In connection to his August arrest, the Orange County (California) District Attorney has charged former Strikeforce and UFC middleweight Jason “Mayhem” Miller with one misdemeanor count of vandalism, according to TMZ.
If convicted, Miller could face up to one year in jail. Probation is another possible repercussion, MMA Junkie reports.
Miller’s arraignment is set for Nov. 21 in Orange County Superior Court. A not-guilty plea would set up a pre-trial hearing for a later date.
The criminal complaint alleges that Miller “did maliciously and unlawfully deface with graffiti and other inscribed material, damage, and destroy church property … in the amount of $400 and more.”
TMZ broke the news last month when Miller was arrested on Aug. 13 at the Mission Hills Church in Mission Viejo.
The former host of MTV’s Bully Beatdown is accused of spraying a fire extinguisher on the first and second floor of the church, scattering books and breaking windows and pictures.
When police arrived, Miller was found naked reclining on a church couch. Police also indicated that the 31-year-old Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt was coherent upon arrest.
Mayhem was released by the UFC shortly after a UFC 146 loss to C.B. Dollaway this May. Miller was winless in the Octagon, with other losses coming by way of Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre in his career.
Two days before his arrest, Miller and Dana White engaged in an extensive Twitter war, where White begged Miller to retire and Mayhem begged White to kill himself.
