Baseball fans love the long ball, football fans love the crushing open field hit and MMA fans, well, they love the knockout.

The more devastating the better.

Even the boss loves the knockout, as evidenced by the multiple “Holy S**t” tweets that UFC president Dana White has graced his followers with following a particularly memorable starching.

You know who doesn’t love the knockouts?

The fighters that suddenly come to and end up trying to scrap with the referee who is doing nothing but trying to keep them immobilized until the doctor can get into the cage and see if they have any clue as to where in the world they are.  Those are the people that hate the knockout.

The other reason why fighters hate the knockout is they know that in the days following that loss (and sometimes victory, right Pat Barry?), they are going to get a notice on how long they have been medically suspended for.

For the fighters that participated in Saturday’s finale of season 16 of The Ultimate Fighter, that day is today.
