There was no shortage of hype heading into Episode 3 of The Ultimate Fighter. UFC President Dana White promised the show would feature one of the worst knockouts in UFC history, and Urijah Hall did not disappoint with his spinning hook kick finish of Adam Cella.
In my 13 years at UFC I have only seen 5 KO’s like this.

Early on, the bout between Hall and Cella was actually closely contested. Both fighters were landing shots, and Cella was finding a way to avoid Hall’s flashy kicks. However, with less than 10 seconds remaining in the opening round, one of Hall’s spinning strikes finally found its mark.
“He was dropping his right hand a little too much,” Hall said of his thought process before attempting the kick, “so I didn’t think he would block it, and I ended up knocking him out.”
Unfortunately, Hall did much more than simply knocking Cella out. Some scary moments followed.
He was out for 4 mins! Got on the stool at 6 in the ambulance at 9!

Cameras focused in on the unconscious Cella following the knockout. His deep breathing and blank stare were unsettling to say the least.
Thankfully, Cella regained consciousness after a few minutes and made a full recovery before heading to the hospital as a precaution.
With his victory over Cella, Hall moved on to the quarterfinals of the TUF middleweight competition. He will now sit and wait for six more fighters to join himself and fellow Team Sonnen member Luke Barnatt in that round.
