Former undisputed UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya has heaped praise on promotional newcomer and recent debutante, Raul Rosas Jr. – comparing the bantamweight prospect to undefeated welterweight contender, Khamzat Chimaev.

Adesanya, the current #1 ranked middleweight contender, held the undisputed middleweight crown until UFC 281 back in November of this year, dropping his crown in a shocking fifth round standing TKO loss against arch-rival, Alex Pereira.

For Rosas Jr. – the 18-year-old improved to 7-0 as a professional in a featured preliminary card matchup against Jay Perrin, scoring a one-sided first round rear-naked choke win.

Rosas Jr. had earned his multi-fight deal with the organization off back of a unanimous decision win over Mando Gutierrez on Dana White’s Contender Series back in September.

Israel Adesanya showers Raul Rosas Jr. with praise following his UFC 282 win

Touting the ability of the youngster, former champion, Israel Adesanya, admitted submission ace, Rosas Jr. was reminding him of the unbeaten welterweight berserker, Chimaev.

“He’s (Raul Rosas Jr.) like a mini Khamzat (Chimaev),” Israel Adesanya said during his reaction to UFC 282 last weekend. “The way he’s fighting at the moment, he’s reminding me of Khamzat. Wow. What a fight – yeah, he’s in the money. Give him the money.” (Transcribed by SportsKeeda

Certainly not short on confidence, Mexico City-born newcomer, Rosas Jr. insisted that he would land a finish over current bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling in his next fight if the duo were to share the Octagon in an unlikely matchup.

“Like, I said, I’m not saying stuff just to say it,” Raul Rosas Jr. said. “Like everything I say is true, and like, people don’t believe in me. But I believe in myself. And I’m just out there and proving it. Like, that’s probably not going to happen [a fight with Aljamain Sterling next], because people don’t know if I could actually really do that [beat him]. I know I can, so I’m just staying active, I’m gonna keep finishing everybody in an impressive way. And show everybody I’m ready to go for that title.”

Poking fun at Rosas Jr.’s claims on his official Twitter account, Sterling engaged in some tongue-in-cheek self-deprecation in response to the Mexican up-and-comer.

“They should make that fight next,” Aljamain Sterling tweeted. “I really think that Rosas will f*ck him up! I heard Cejudo’s out and Rosas is in.”

UFC lightweight Paddy Pimblett was screaming for his “Fight of the Night” bonus after scoring a controversial decision victory over Jared Gordon at UFC 282 last weekend in Las Vegas. It appears the only person to agree with “The Baddy” was Barstool boss Dave Portnoy, who echoed the sentiment on his official Twitter account.

Have a look:

“This makes the Barstool guys look really bad,” UFC lightweight contender Justin Gaethje wrote on Twitter. “Just bending over for the lad. Fight of the night? Barstool can give him 50k but that performance will never get you a bonus in the Octagon.”

Pimblett lists himself as a “Barstool Sports sponsored athlete” on Instagram.

“People are telling me Justin Gaethje was recently seen hanging out with a warlord accused of brutal crimes against humanity so its hypocritical for him to say we look bad for supporting Paddy when he supports a warlord,” Portnoy fired back. “I’m gonna take the high road and not mention it.”

I guess the driveway to the Barstool high road is paved with mentioning it?

Portnoy was referencing the social media criticism Gaethje and some of his fellow UFC fighters faced for traveling overseas to mingle with Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov, a Dominance MMA tradition that dates back several years (and several champions).

Gaethje called the accusations “an outright lie and slander.”

“A quick recap of tonight’s exchange with Justin Gaethje,” Portnoy continued. “He talks shit about me for supporting Paddy. I respond by saying it may be hypocritical to throw stones when people are saying he hung around with a brutal dictator a few weeks ago. He threatens to beat me up.”

Maybe they can settle their score next month on TBS?

UFC president Dana White reacts to fan outrage over the controversial decision in the fight between Paddy Pimblett and Jared Gordon.

Pimblett would be awarded a unanimous decision win this past weekend at UFC 282. Many onlookers were in shock when the announcement was read, the vast majority of media, fans and fighters awarded the bout to Gordon. The general consensus being that a scorecard of 29-28 to Gordon would be the best-case scenario for Pimblett.

Pimblett himself reacted to the bout, steadfast that he was the deserved winner and seemingly unbothered about what others think.

I don’t think it was close,” Pimblett said. “I don’t understand why everyone thinks it was close. I easily won the first two rounds, and then the third round I sort of coasted because me ankle was very soar.

Dana White reacts

White is never one to shy away from heat, whether he gives the answer for you’re looking for or not, White usually takes it upon himself to address a topic.

Following the event, a fan would leave a comment under an Instagram post of White’s, showing his frustration at the previous night’s results.

“Nobody Cares Dana. We care about that robbery of a fight last night,” the fan would post. White would respond in typical blunt fashion, stating: “Call the commission if you are that concerned with it.

White would criticize Gordon on his performance in the fight, arguing that he could leave it in the hands of the judges.

Jared Gordon had a terrible gameplan against Paddy Pimblett,” White said. “He shouldn’t have coasted through the third round thinking he was up on the scorecards.”

What should Dana White do about the situation?

Jairzinho Rozenstruik has sent a warning to the top 5 of the UFC heavyweight division, following his brutal knockout of Chris Daukas.

Rozenstruik officially owns three knockouts within the first 30 seconds in the UFC, following Saturday night’s performance against Chris Daukaus.

The 34-year-old rocked Daukaus with a jab and from then the end seemed inevitable as Rozenstruik lay out a heavy assault on the wobbly Daukaus

Who’s next for Jairzinho Rozenstruik?

Sitting at No.8 in the UFC’s heavyweight rankings, Rozenstruik has an array of fun matchups on either side of him. However, the Surinamese heavy-hitter is eyeing up some of the biggest names in the division.

Speaking post-fight, Rozenstruik said he knew Daukaus didn’t have what It took to stop him, sending a reminder to the rest of the division.

I know he [Daukaus] can’t handle the pressure.” He said. “I know another thing about myself, When I go forward, I knock people out. As soon as I got the opening, he threw that right, I jabbed him and kind of rocked him, and I just followed up.

“I put in work, so that’s what you’re going to see. I just do what I have to do, and that’s it.”

I’ll say to the top five: Don’t get too comfortable. I put a lot of work into what I do. After a few fights [not winning], I’m back in the win column and I’m looking forward to [winning more].” (H/T BJPenn.com)

Rozenstruik’s performance saw him get back on the winning track following dropping fights to Alexander Volkov and Curtis Blaydes.

Although he has been a little up and down since dropping his first loss to Francis Ngannou, Rozenstruik has proved dangerous and a handle for just about anyone.

Who should Jairzinho Rozenstruik face next?

Former UFC featherweight “Hammer” Artem Lobov was known for his aggressive offense inside the cage and it appears the one-time “Ultimate Fighter” will be taking the same approach in court, evidenced by a second lawsuit in the works against former friend and SBG Ireland training partner Conor McGregor.

Lobov is accusing McGregor of a “concerted social media barrage” with the intent of “harassing, intimidating and defaming him,” according to a new report from Independent.ie, claiming a “Notorious” retaliation for the original lawsuit Lobov filed just last month over the uneven wealth distribution of Proper 12 whiskey.

And by uneven I mean “Lobov got jack squat.”

In his soon-to-be-released book Lobov details the genesis of Proper 12 and alleges the entire operation was his idea and that “Notorious” instructed him to handle all the research and planning before the execution, relying on “The Hammer’s” college degree and copious contacts in the beverage distribution industry.

Read Lobov’s story firsthand right here.

When news broke of the lawsuit, McGregor voiced his displeasure by calling Lobov a “rat” and according to the report, McGregor’s father also joined the “social media barrage” by lighting up Lobov on Instagram. No word yet on what kind of damages Lobov is seeking in his latest lawsuit but the first is calling for up to $30 million.

Stay tuned.
