UFC Fight Night 24: Noguiera Vs. Davis happens this Saturday night in Seattle and for once, we completely agree with the betting lines.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (+210) vs. Phil Davis (-280):

Phil Davis is a late replacement for Tito Ortiz in this headlining bout against Antonio “Lil’ Nog” Nogueira but is still rightfully the favorite. Both Lil’ Nog and Davis are big guys, but as we saw in Nogueira’s fight against Ryan Bader, he can be taken down and Davis just has the upper wrestling hand here.

Dan Hardy (+155) vs. Anthony Johnson (-190):

In a win we feel will also happen on the ground… Dan Hardy has proven he can stand and bang, but he likely will be not have the defense against the bigger Anthony Johnson who should easily take him to the ground and use his prime wrestling skills to win this fight.

DaMarques Johnson (+200) vs. Amir Sadollah (-260):

DaMarques Johnson has yet to demonstrate consistency on the ground or standing. Amir Sadollah should have solid takedown defense and his kickboxing arsenal to grind out the victory.

Fedor Emelianenko makes his film debut in the Russian suspense thriller, “The Salamander Key”. It’s not that big of news for us because the movie is entirely in Russian so we will probably never see it , but we do wonder… Could this be the reason he lost his fight with Antonio Silva in the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament? We’ve seen our favorite fighters like Quinton “Rampage” Jackson take time to make a Hollywood Blockbuster here and even Stephan Bonnar made this possibly really good film and then comeback to the cage with a poor showing. We’re not sure when this flick was shot and if it actually contributed to Fedor’s loss, but it makes a better excuse than this one. Watch the movie trailer below:

Now we have news for you, Jenna. This is Tito’s last UFC fight if he doesn’t miraculously pull a win over Bader here. And though, we’re sure an Ortiz victory isn’t a very likely outcome in this fight, we believe it’s your duty to fix yourself up a little more…just in case it could help Tito. Your looks could make the difference! Maybe put on a little weight, even. You were looking better a few years back with the fuller figure. Here, if you can’t remember exactly what that looks like, we’ll help you out. Here’s some photos of you that we hope inspire you to get yourself together and show up looking good for your man come this July 2nd. No worries, you have time…

There’s Going to Be a New Fight News Show… or Something… the Press Release is Confusing

A show I was told will be airing on Canada’s The Fight Network is set to start production and stream on the internet in July. I think. I’m not sure if whoever wrote this press release is foreign and doesn’t have the best grasp to write the English language or if he’s a product of the American public school system which has continued to suffer financial cut backs in these trying economical times. I don’t know. You help me out. Take a look at the release below:

Newly formed seg Santoro entertainment group is scheduled to make thier presence felt in North American MMA, in 2011. They have teamed up with three internet marketing companies to combined there effort. They are all teamed up under one banner now ,Santoro Entertainment Group, spear heading operations for the organization is Pasqualino Santoro who you will recall was the promoter who took alone stand against the ABC American boxing and wrestling commission, better yet, Tim Lukenoff, president of the ABC. Through our understanding ABC tried to flex his muscle on Mr. Santoro show Colloseo championship fighting 5 resurrection to the ABC disappointment the show went off without a hitch, and no fighters where injured using Japanese dream rules.
After taking a little more then a year off, he has made this announcement since colloseo championship fighting cannot get a TV deal we will just make are own internet channel to broadcast our fights for free and it steamrolled into a whole new area for us and grew and we are where we are at now.
Through the partnership of a internet streaming company we have access to the fans of the sport we have never had. They are guiding us in a whole new direction. Hel,l who would want to buy a HD PPV or have to order a channel just to see one or two shows? We have developed a weekly news program that will start airing in July. Anchoring the news show will be Amy Hayes .

As noted in the release, Amy Hayes will be hosting the show and judging by the picture above, she looks like a very good host. The press release went on to say:

The program will start airing in June.

And that’s weird since it said in the first section that it would air in July. But we don’t care about semantics ’cause we read this part and decided these guys are geniuses.

We asked about having female news correspondence. They can handle there own, he said, just like the fighters make the promotion, the product these correspondence make are show in the fight game. Who wants to see a male news correspondent?

We at Fix welcome this new show (whatever it’s called). Did the press release give it a name? And now… [as expected from us] pictures of Amy Hayes and her co-anchor on this show, Stephanie Lee.
