This is one of the fights Randy Couture said he would find interesting, as he has maintained in recent interviews, he may not be up for a title fight but he would like to take fights that are “interesting”. If Couture could pull off a win against the currently number 2 ranked UFC Light Heavyweight, he would indeed become a title-shot contender. But recent news from Couture is taken with a grain of salt, as we all were fooled by his tweet last month which suggested he was hanging up the MMA gloves. Couture’s lawyer explained the tweet was not a retirement statement, but it’s hard to believe the words “I think I’m at the end of it Yall . It’s time.” weren’t some indication of a goodbye to his MMA career. Regardless, we will wait to see what Randy tweets next and of course, what Dana White has to say about it.

UFC 125 somberly ended with a Draw in the Main Event Lightweight title-match between Champion, Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard. Though the two fighters were clearly unsatisfied with the decisive Draw, they are on tap for an immediate rematch, much to the detriment of contender, Anthony Pettis who will have to wait possibly a good eight months for his shot at the Lightweight title. White had originally stated Pettis would be the next match-up for Edgar but quickly recanted, noting Maynard clearly deserved a rematch.

On a brighter side, UFC 125 marked the debut of Octagon Girl, Brittney Palmer. However, every good beginning is subject to a bumpy start and Palmer’s came in the form of a misspelled name on her credential as seen here:IMG00326-20101231-1241-755773

But Palmer has a great sense of humor to match her even greater body. Here’s a look at the buxom beauty in her new work color, red:

Let’s start 2011 off on the right foot…
If you’re looking to get your 2011 MMA betting off to the right start, here are our best values on UFC 125 betting lines.

:: Frankie Edgar is the champ, but he’s the underdog. If you find it hard betting against the champ, grab Edgar at +120 at Bookmaker here. If you find it harder to bet against the only guy who has beaten him, the take Gray Maynard at -130 at Bodog here.

:: We’re kinda liking “the new” Chris Leben and expect him to continue his upward career trend. Public money has been pretty heavy on Brian Stann though, and Leben has moved from -180 to -160 at BetUS here. We suggest taking the -160 now before it moves up again.

:: While one of our general rules in betting MMA is to NEVER bet against Anderson Silva or GSP, another one is not to ever take the side against Clay Guida, because, well, he’s Clay Fucking Guida. So take the -150 with Guida here.

:: For prop bets, Bodog has a few fliers we’d take for the hell of it on the title fight. First put $100 on “Gray Maynard vs Frankie Edgar won’t complete 1 full round” at +750 here. Second, drop another $100 on “Gray Maynard vs Frankie Edgar won’t complete 4 full rounds” at +260 here.

Good luck in 2011…
