After pursuing careers in both the WWE and the NFL, Brock Lesnar made the transition to the sport of mixed martial arts in 2007.

Lesnar made a successful run to the top of the heavyweight division and was crowned the 265-pound champion in a win over Randy Couture.

However, Lesnar would go on to be stripped of his title due to an illness, which would eventually force the former NCAA champ out of action for over a year.

Lesnar will now make his return to the Octagon when he takes on UFC newcomer Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 on December 30th, 2011.

A win in December will solidify Lesnar’s shot at the current champion Junior dos Santos in hopes of regaining his treasured title.

However, there are several things Lesnar must accomplish in order to become the champion he once was.

So, the following slides display five things Brock Lesnar must do to wear UFC gold again.

Let’s take a look.

After an Ultimate Fighter season full of words and hatred, Michael Bisping finally got his revenge on Jason “Mayhem” Miller, moving him closer to a much desired middleweight title fight.

When action began at the TUF finale Saturday night, it was Miller who controlled the pace.

Those in attendance were surprised to see Miller exchange strikes with Bisping, as he was the clear underdog heading into the main event of the evening.

After a combination of right hooks, Miller capitalized on a takedown and had his opponent up against the cage before Bisping returned to his feet.

Round 1 came to an end as Miller had the clear edge. But, the tides turned in the second round as Bisping began to unload on his opponent.

Miller, however, displayed the heart of a warrior and refused to go down in defeat.

“Mayhem” escaped the second round but things only got worse from there as the Brit once again controlled the stand-up, landing vicious strikes to nearly every part of Miller’s body.

Miller would eventually find himself on his back as Bisping began to impose his will via body strikes and knees.

It was clear Bisping was the better conditioned fighter as Miller was gassed after his dominant first round.

Then at 3:34 of the third round, the fight was stopped by referee Steve Mazzagatti, declaring Bisping the technical knockout victory.

It was Bisping‘s fourth consecutive win and now awaits a potential title fight with current middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

In arguably the most important fight of his mixed martial arts career, Michael Bisping will step foot inside the Octagon to take on his rival in Jason “Mayhem” Miller.

It’s been made known that Miller is the clear fan favorite as Bisping has fallen from popularity.

However, none of that will matter when action begins in just a few short hours as Bisping is believed to be the favorite on paper.

In order for Bisping to prove he is, in fact, the better mixed martial artist, there are several things he’ll have to accomplish throughout the fight.

As soon as the opening bell rings, Bisping is likely to attack Miller as he’s been away from the sport for over a full year.

Bisping needs to test Miller’s quickness as well as his defense as he hasn’t been physically tested since his bout with Jake Shields in 2009.

While Bisping can certainly defend himself on the ground as he’s established himself as a well-rounded fighter, he’ll want to keep the fight in the stand-up position.

Bisping is the clear favorite in striking as he’s knocked out an impressive 13 fighters over the course of his career.

However, Miller has shown in the past that he can exchange strikes fairly well as he’s been knocked out just once in 31 career fights.

If Bisping fails to finish Miller early in Round 1, it’s likely he’ll attempt to wear down his opponent as Miller has shown signs of gassing out in the past.

Miller’s lost five of nine fights when his bouts goes to the judge’s scorecards while Bisping has come up short in a decision just twice.

If Bisping can effectively establish his striking game and avoid being taken to the ground, he should have no problem inching closer to his much desired middleweight title shot.

After being out for over a year, Jason “Mayhem” Miller will make his return to the sport, and Octagon, to take on Michael Bisping at The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale.

In just a few short hours, Miller will touch gloves with the opposing coach on TUF, and a man he greatly despises.

However, a despising of Bisping won’t get the job done when the action begins at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV, as it will be one of his toughest opponents to date.

There are several things Miller will have to do for the victory.

It’s likely it will be Bisping who pressures Miller at the opening bell.

In order to remain in the fight, “Mayhem” will have to calm the early storm and prove cage rust is not an issue.

If Miller can survive an early attack, he’ll begin to settle down and get in rhythm.

Miller, however, won’t want to stand with Bisping, as Bisping holds a great advantage in the striking department.

Fans can expect Miller’s attack to consist of attempted takedowns early and often.

But, unfortunately for Miller, Bisping doesn’t go down easy as he has one of the better takedown defenses and is also one of the better grapplers in the middleweight division.

It will be a true test to see if Miller can put Bisping on his back.

If he can, he’ll more than likely pressure with a variety of submission attempts, as he has established himself as a dangerous tapout artist over the course of his career.

If Miller can avoid exchanging strikes and stick to his game plan, he should have no problem leaving Las Vegas victorious.
