Just went you thought Chael Sonnen couldn’t receive any more press, enter the 2011 World MMA Awards.

Fighters Only Magazine recently announced that Sonnen will take the center stage once again and announce the Awards Ceremony on November 30, 2011.

Sonnen will be accompanied by his co-host Molly Querim when the event takes place at the Pearl Theatre at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

While Sonnen has always been recognized as an above average mixed martial artist, he hit the mainstream after his electrifying bout with Anderson Silva at UFC 117.

Sonnen, who pounded the UFC middleweight champion for the first four-and-a-half rounds was submitted at 3:10 of the fifth and final round in what would end of being arguably the craziest finish in mixed martial arts history.

Following his loss to Silva, Sonnen became the UFC’s most outspoken fighter taking his thoughts to Twitter, the Jim Rome Show and even national pay-per-view television following his victory over Brian Stann at UFC 136.

The “quick to speak” Sonnen will once again get to address the nation as the MMA Awards Ceremony will be broadcasted by FOX Sports Network in the eastern and western parts of the United States.

Fighters Only CEO Rob Hewitt addressed the up and coming event by saying:

“I say it every year that we want to make the awards show bigger and better and every year we have done just that. However, none of it would be possible with out the support of the MMA industry, the fans, our sponsors and TV and venue partners who all believe as much as we do in this project.”

While the MMA Awards may need to monitor every word that comes out of Sonnen’s mouth, it will certainly be bigger and better than ever before.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has become one of the world’s fastest growing organizations for a reason.

UFC President, Dana White has been the engine of the UFC since it’s rapid growth began and has catapulted the organization into a league of their own.

And, as expected, the UFC has outdone themselves again.

Variety.com recently revealed that Cinedigm has collaborated with the UFC to bring forth four UFC events a year in 3D.

While the first fight card has yet to be determined, the first pay-per-view event will hit theaters February 4th, 2012.

Chris McGurk, Cinedigm’s CEO, wasn’t hesitant at all in joining forces with the UFC as he stated,

“Regardless of the network you have, the most important thing is to be providing content avid audiences want to see in a social setting. UFC, the way it’s exploded in the last few years, is the perfect content to put in theaters live and in 3D.”

While Cinedigm has not shared which locations would show the first pay-per-view event in 3D, they have stated February’s event will be shown in approximately 120 theaters.

Joining forces with Cinedigm has allowed the UFC to gain another stepping stone on way to the top of the sports world.
