Mixed Martial Arts has undoubtedly become the world’s fastest growing sport over the past decade and shows no signs of slowing down.
Organizations such as UFC, Strikeforce and Bellator have catapulted MMA into a league of their own.
A substantial amount of MMA’s growth is credited to the world class athletes who take part in fighting for the sport.
And, while these fighters have unarguably brought the sport to a whole new level, it’s the mixed martial arts gyms in which these fighters have grown to be great in.
It’s the world-class gyms that have allowed fighters to become world champions and legends in their respected organizations.
The following slides display the top 10 gyms in MMA today.

Charlie Brenneman, from Hollidaysburg, Penn., began his mixed martial arts career in April of 2007.
In his MMA debut, Brenneman defeated Marcello Olivera via unanimous decision at Extreme Challenge 81 in New Jersey.
Brenneman went on to win his next four fights, including one that declared him the ROC welterweight champion.
After a loss to John Howard at Ring of Combat 21, Brenneman regained his focus and began a journey that would evening lead him to the highest stage in MMA, the UFC.
After 6 consecutive wins Brenneman was set to take part in his first UFC bout against Jason High at UFC Fight Night: Florian vs. Gomi.
Action began as “The Spaniard” dominated frame after frame. After out-striking and taking High down six times, Brenneman left Charlotte victorious.
In his second career bout inside the UFC Octagon, Brenneman met his match in a defeat against Johny Hendricks at UFC 117.
Despite taking Hendricks down on two occasions, Brenneman was knocked out at 0:40 of the second round.
Once again, Brenneman bounced back at UFC: Fight for the Troops 2, taking Amilcar Alves the distance and winning via Unanimous Decision.
Fans across the globe began to wonder who this Brenneman guy was.
They began to ask, is he a legitimate welterweight contender?
In his very next fight, Brenneman proved his worthiness when he defeated Rick Story in arguably the most impressive victory of his career.
“The Spaniard” took Story down five times on way to a unanimous decision victory and earned his third UFC win.
Now a legitimate contender in the 170-pound weight class, Brenneman will square off with highly dangerous Anthony Johnson at UFC Live 6 on Saturday, October 1.
Already a dark horse in the welterweight division, a win over Johnson will continue to turn many heads in the direction of Brenneman.

B.J. Penn is unarguably one of the greatest fighters in UFC history.
Since entering the UFC in May of 2001, Penn has been nothing less than spectacular
With a career record of 16-7, Penn is one of only two fighters to have held a UFC title in two different weight classes.
The former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion has defeated notable opponents along the way, among them Matt Hughes, Matt Serra, Kenny Florian and Sean Sherk.
Penn has also defeated Jens Pulver, Joe Stevenson and Diego Sanchez.
While Penn may be a legend inside the Octagon, he’s also one outside as well.
Not only is Penn known for his expertise in mixed martial arts, but his bizarre, outrageous and hilarious quotes.
The following slides display the top 10 quotes of B.J. Penn’s career in the UFC.

When Jon “Bones” Jones defeated Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 135 on Sept. 24, he proved two things.
The first, that he is in fact the future of the UFC. Secondly, not only is he is the future of the sport, but so is his style.
Jones defeated Jackson in fashion looking similar to UFC’s greatest fighter of all time, Anderson Silva.
Similar to Silva, Jones demonstrated a supremacy in all aspects of the sport as he remained the UFC Light Heavyweight champion via rear naked choke.
“Bones” Jones also proved that in order for someone to beat him, they’ll have to be well rounded in all aspects of mixed martial arts.
And, what this also means is, fighters similar to Jackson will soon be left behind.
Why? Because, the UFC is quickly emerging from being featured around the “one punch” knockout artists to “well-rounded” fighters.
As we’ve seen with fighters such as Chuck Liddell, Wanderlei Silva, and Forrest Griffin, you can no longer be one-dimensional in the UFC.
Jones has proved that his stand-up striking, kicking, and clinch is the future style of the UFC.
Not only is Jones a force on his feet but in the takedown, grappling, and submission game as well.
And, while the future style of the UFC is requiring its fighters to be well-rounded, they must also be able to adapt to their opponents.
Similar to George St-Pierre and Rory MacDonald, mixed martial artists must now demonstrate the ability to leave their game plans and still manage to come out on top.
The UFC and its style is quickly changing as shown by champions Silva and Jones.
And, not only is the sport making this transition, but it will begin to leave behind those who fail to become well-rounded fighters in their respective weight classes.
Jon Jones has proved that he and his style are the future of the UFC.
