Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Dan Henderson was announced as the newest member of the UFC roster on Monday afternoon when it was announced that he would be fighting Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 139.

But with his move back to the Octagon, serious questions continue to rise regarding the future of the Strikeforce brand. Can the organization continue to survive when it appears that Zuffa has made made it the black sheep of its MMA family?

Henderson is not the first superstar fighter to leave the organization for the Zuffa-owned UFC this year. He’s just the latest in what is becoming a long line of top-level Strikeforce fighters making the move to the UFC.

The Strikeforce brand is on life support and at this point, the only question is when the plug will finally be pulled. The end of 2011 may be too early, but it’s hard to imagine that Strikeforce will be around past the end of 2012.

Huge UFC news broke today when it was announced that legendary light heavyweight fighters Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Dan Henderson will fight at UFC 139 in November.

This PRIDE throwback fight will be huge for the UFC light heavyweight rankings as “Hendo” makes his return to the division. But where does the now-former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion currently sit in the division?

To answer that question, we need to take a closer look at what is currently happening in the Octagon at 205-pounds.

Jon Jones and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will determine the top dog in the division this Saturday night when they do battle at UFC 135 this upcoming weekend. As awesome as these two fighters are, though, they are only two of a now unbelievably stacked light heavyweight division.

So let’s see who the Top-10 205-pound fighters in the UFC currently are!

LMFAO’s new single, “Sexy and I Know It” currently sits at No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and is quickly moving up the list following the recent release of the music video which features a cameo appearance from UFC fighter Alistair Overeem

It appeared that mainstream popularity was inevitable when former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Overeem signed with the UFC just a few short weeks ago, but who would have expected that it would have come this soon, or in this type of media?

Some fans might be frustrated by the notoriously badass Overeem appearing in such a ridiculous video, but the truth is that this is a brilliant move by the UFC and Overeem himself in an effort to grab some mainstream attention from an audience that might have never known who he was without this music video appearance.

There is still no word yet on what song Overeem will be using for his entrance at UFC 141 when he is scheduled to fight Brock Lesnar, but perhaps we will get some sort of hilarious live performance of “Sexy and I Know It” starring Overeem and the guys from LMFAO.

Sure, some might get upset, but this is entertainment, isn’t it?

When I walk on by, girls be looking like damn he fly

Everybody stops and they staring at me
I got passion in my pants and I ain’t afraid to show it

UFC Fight Night 25 had some great fights on it, but it may have been Joe Rogan’s interview with light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, and challenger Rampage Jackson, that stole the show.

The UFC 135 main event will feature these two very talented 205-pounders, who have been involved in some major controversy surrounding their fight, as well as an ongoing rumor revolving around training for the fight.

“Spygate” is a term typically used to describe the controversial NFL situation, when the New England Patriots football team was caught videotaping their opponent’s pre-game walk-through during the 2007 NFL season. The situation became very ugly for awhile, and left the Patriots without a first round draft pick the following year as punishment.

In 2011, the phrase has returned, but this time it involves Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Jon “Bones” Jones, and their respective fight camps.

The two fighters discussed this, and other topics, in the interview with Joe Rogan tonight. The video will likely be available at some point soon, but for now, here is a list of some of the better quotes.

UFC Fight Night 25: Shields vs. Ellenberger is in the books and it’s that time again for us to take a look at the real winners and losers from the big event on Spike TV.

Tonight’s fight card was full of great action, including the main event between welterweights Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger whose stylistic matchup had a lot of experts scratching their heads on who would have their hand raised at the end of the night.

As with every event, we can always go back and look at the official record books which will tell us who walked out of the event with a “W” and who walked out with an “L.” But the official record book doesn’t always tell the whole story.

Like we’ve seen many times in the past, there were actually quite a few unofficial “winners and losers” from tonight’s fight card. Let’s take a closer look at the event.

Triple H is Wrong: 5 Reasons WWE Needs to Evolve More Than UFC

Triple H is one of the most successful professional wrestlers in the history of the sport. He is even the heir apparent to the empire grown by his father-in-law, Vince McMahon, who has made his WWE product into a household name.

In recent days, however, Triple H has made some controversial remarks regarding another company which the WWE has repeatedly claimed that it is not in competition with—the UFC. In a recent interview, the WWE superstar told readers that the UFC needs to evolve to include more entertainment in their product.

“I think if anybody needs to evolve, it’s them,” he told MovieFone after a question about the WWE’s need to evolve to match what the UFC is doing. “Give more of an entertainment standpoint. Give more form; they just have fighters who walk in in T-shirts and shorts and just stand there and then they fight and then they win and then they go, “thanks, I’d like to thank my sponsors” and then they leave.”

On the surface, it would appear that Triple H believes that the UFC needs to be more like the WWE. He wouldn’t say that specifically, but his words certainly indicate that’s how he feels.

It can be hard to get out of an entrenched lifestyle that you’ve been in for decades, but the reality is that Triple H couldn’t be more off-base than he is. Whether he or the decision-makers in the WWE want to admit it, it’s their company that needs to evolve with the times or fall by the wayside.
