UFC superstar Ronda Rousey appeared on the Ellen Show to talk about her upcoming fight against Amanda Nunes and her future in MMA

And Rousey indicated that her retirement may come sooner than expected.

“I’m wrapping it up. This is definitely one of my last fights,” Rousey said during the interview.

She added: “Everyone better watch, because the show isn’t going to be around forever.”

Rousey also commented on the aspects of her UFC career that are more difficult to deal with than the actual fights themselves:

I think it’s the buildup that’s more tiring than anything else. If I had a fight right now, I’d be like, ‘Fight right now!’ and then I’d go get dinner and I wouldn’t really be tired about it. It’s the weeks and weeks of buildup beforehand, where you know you’re fighting this one person, and it’s like your showdown, the most important thing in your whole life, and millions of people are watching. It’s that buildup, for weeks and weeks on end. If it just happened right now I wouldn’t be nervous at all, it’s the waiting.

Dana White Comments on Potentially Signing Greg Hardy as UFC Fighter

On Wednesday, UFC President Dana White left open the possibility that former NFL defensive end Greg Hardy could one day appear in the UFC during an interview on FS1’s Speak for Yourself, per MMA Fighting:

I’m one of those guys too who believes that we’re all human beings and we all make mistakes. And when you make a mistake, you pay your penance, whatever it might be, and you should be allowed to make a living and move on in your life. Is he good enough to come into the UFC and fight? I highly doubt it. I’ve been playing football for a couple weeks too, maybe I’ll try out for the (New England) Patriots? It takes a little bit longer than that, but he could fight at one of these small shows. We’ll see how he looks, and I don’t know.

Hardy, 28, announced this week he has decided to become an MMA fighter.

“I’m very focused and excited to start my MMA career,” Hardy said in a statement Tuesday, per . “I’m going to do this the right way, I can assure you of that.”

That decision perhaps came in the wake of Hardy failing to sign with an NFL team this offseason. He returned to the NFL in 2015 after being found guilty of domestic violence in July 2014 and was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list for most of the 2014 season—those charges were eventually dismissed after his accuser didn’t appear at the appeal hearing. He accumulated 35 tackles, six sacks, one forced fumble and an interception in 12 games with the Dallas Cowboys.

But Hardy was a constant source of distraction and controversy during his time in Dallas, and the team decided against re-signing him. No other teams were willing to offer him a contract either, which perhaps caused the former defensive end to consider a career change.

But Hardy’s past actions led Jay Glazer of Fox Sports to encourage folks within the MMA world to shun Hardy, as he tweeted:

I would be incredibly disappointed in any of my fellow MMA coaches and any promoters if they took Greg Hardy in and taught him a shred of our incredible sport. Many of us train women in self defense specifically to help protect vs domestic violence. Me and all my coaches at @Unbreakable do and take great pride in that. Competing in any sport is a privilege, Greg Hardy should not be granted the privilege. There are many beautiful arts taught in our sport, none of which should be afforded to him.

White didn’t agree with that approach:

I’m not saying he should be welcomed here, but I’m saying I’m a guy who believes that if you make a mistake, your life isn’t over, go kill yourself or something. You made a mistake, you pay for it. When you make mistakes, it’s all about how you act from there on out. How do you handle yourself after that and what do you do to fix it.

In other words, Hardy’s path to the UFC isn’t completely closed off. The controversial figure will have to prove himself as an MMA fighter first, however.

WWE superstar Brock Lesnar acknowledged the possibility of one day returning to the UFC to resume his MMA career.

“There will be a day, maybe, that they might see me back in the Octagon,” Lesnar told TMZ Sports in an interview.

You can see his full comments below:

Lesnar’s future with the UFC is in question, however, because he twice tested positive for banned substances in June and July of this year. The June results came from an out-of-competition test, while in July he came up positive for a banned substance on fight night before his bout against Mark Hunt.

“Lesnar’s case is still pending with both USADA and the Nevada Athletic Commission, which has jurisdiction over his fight with Hunt,” Ken Pishna of MMA Weekly reported.

Lesnar could still be facing a lengthy ban from the sport, pending the results of that case. It makes the possibility of his return to the Octagon anytime soon an uncertainty.

Lesnar is 6-3 (5-3 in the UFC) in his professional MMA career, which included a stint as the UFC heavyweight champion and victories over Randy Couture, Frank Mir and Shane Carwin.

Given his status as a WWE superstar as well, he’s a major draw for the UFC when he appears in the Octagon. His bout against Hunt was the co-main event at UFC 200 after the scheduled fights between Conor McGregor-Nate Diaz and Jon Jones-Daniel Cormier were cancelled.

The UFC released a statement Tuesday on its official website updating the status of superstar Brock Lesnar‘s in-competition drug test:

The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Brock Lesnar that his in-competition sample collection from July 9, 2016, at UFC 200, has tested positive for the same substance as his previously announced out-of-competition collection on June 28, 2016.

USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. The Nevada State Athletic Commission also retains jurisdiction over this matter as the sample collection was performed at UFC 200 in Las Vegas.

Consistent with all previous potential anti-doping violations, additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.

The USADA has not released any information pertaining to the substance allegedly found in Lesnar’s system in both tests.
