Now what do we make of this?

In some recent tweets, Rampage Jackson has reportedly announced that his next fight in the UFC will be his last.

He tweeted, “I will fight who ever they put n front of me, I always have, but it will b my last fight n the UFC, I have other things on my mind.”

Following up on this, “I didn’t say I would b done fighting, I just said I’m not fighting 4 the UFC, (u fight cheap) I said I have other things on my mind (big head).”

Jackson had a lackluster and overweight showing in Japan where he lost a unanimous decision to Ryan Bader. This was especially disappointing after he seemed to pump himself up just to entertain his old Pride fan base.

Could we see our third straight surprise “retirement” in the UFC? I don’t see this happening, just like I don’t see Diaz staying retired, especially because he stressed the fact that he wants to fight again. He wouldn’t make as much money in Bellator or Dream.

Maybe he got a taste for the Japanese crowd and wants to continue to fight in Japan. Though I think we can all see this for just being more daily drama in the MMA world.
