It’s been a roller coaster ride for UFC welterweight Charlie ‘The Spaniard’ Brenneman over the past few days. He had been scheduled to meet TJ Grant this Sunday on the UFC on Versus 4 event, but Grant was much too ill to even make the trip to Pittsburgh, leaving Brenneman without an opponent.
In this interview with Ariel Helwani, Brenneman says he was told Friday to be ready to weigh-in but still wasn’t sure he’d be fighting until 15 minutes before the actual weigh-ins.
Now he’ll meet Rick Story on the main card and is very excited that friends and family will get to see him fight in his home state of Pennsylvania.
