Most sports leagues have embraced the power of social media only tentatively, scared perhaps of even the slightest hint of negativity or controversy. Not so the UFC, the cagefighting behemoth with the take-no-prisoners attitude, which has offered undercard fights on Facebook and tweets by the thousands before, during and after every major event.

The UFC, true to their Las Vegas roots, has been all in.

President Dana White is a constant presence on Twitter, even if many of his posts only use words of the four-letter variety. His fighters and fans have joined him, making the MMA Twitterverse the new home of choice for MMA fans looking to chat about the sport they love.

There is some truly dynamic content shared every day on Twitter by some of your favorite fighters, writers and even fans. We’ll sort through to find the best daily for your pleasure. Found an amazing tweet? Drop it in the comments below.

While the sports world was dialed in on the Super Bowl, the MMA world never sleeps—and neither does the team here at Bleacher Report’s Caged In blog. Today, Forrest Griffin campaigns for a new source of income, UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta obliges him, Frankie Edgar shares a wonderfully disgusting new picture and Bleacher Report adds a familiar new face to our MMA team.

Forrest Griffin has been in some hot water in the past for some inappropriate tweets. Today he posted the question “You think I could get the UFC just to pay me not to tweet?” UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta was quick to reply in the affirmative. Funny stuff.

Frankie Edgar didn’t have the best night of his life at UFC 156. The former lightweight champion dropped a decision in his featherweight debut, falling short to the great Jose Aldo.

Worse still?

Edgar had some damage to his face that needed sorting out before he could put the experience behind him, something he shared with his fans on Twitter.

You could probably run this feature with nothing but War Machine tweets. They’re a look inside the mind of a fighter/rehabilitated citizen/former porn actor.

And, saving the best for last, Caged In is proud to add former MMA Weekly lead writer Damon Martin to our great team. Damon has been covering the MMA business for almost a decade and his presence alone makes ours a must-visit site for MMA news and analysis. We’re thrilled to have him on board.
