As you might have heard, there was a great fight last night on The Ultimate Fighter. On the sixth episode of its eighteenth season, fans were treated to a barn-burner between extraordinarily talented prospects Raquel Pennington and Jessamyn Duke. On a season with a mix of long-time veterans of the sport competing alongside younger talents, Duke and Pennington are two of the legitimate up-and-comers on the show.
Pennington of Team Tate comes from a boxing background, but has demonstrated strong grappling skills. Duke of Team Rousey comes from a grappling background, but is capable of using her long, lean frame to land hard knees in the clinch and lock up tight submissions. When the two came together, it resulted in a back-and-forth brawl that ranks among the best fights in the history of The Ultimate Fighter.

The Ultimate Fighter is the UFC’s long-running reality show, dedicated to taking unrefined fighters and building them into contenders in the world’s largest MMA promotion. Now in its eighteenth season, it features long-time rivals Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate coaching teams of 135-pound men and women.
Thus far, the season has been particularly strong, featuring a load of untouched bantamweight talent that will likely be able to make waves in the UFC immediately. Additionally, the fights this season have been generally strong, including impressive knockouts and shocking upsets.
