Jon "Bones" Jones: "Someone Tell Chael Sonnen He Knows Where I’ll Be Waiting"

Chael Sonnen, you’ve been warned, and that’s the bottom line because UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon “Bones” Jones said so.

Jones personally tweeted himself a very simple warning to the UFC on FOX 2 co-headliner after Sonnen originally made remarks on TSN’s Off The Record with Michael Landsberg.

Now, wait a minute here…TSN’s Off The Record with Michael Landsberg?

Isn’t that the same show Sonnen walked off from after an argument and misunderstanding about why he took the “loser leaves town” stipulation off the table for a then-pending UFC 117 rematch with reigning UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva?

Sounds like the same show we all heard of after Sonnen’s UFC 136 win over Brian Stann, but Sonnen must have learned his lesson from the last time he was on Landsberg’s show because he appeared on that same show in order to promote his UFC on FOX 2 bout against Mark Munoz.

That, boys and girls, is where the inspiration for Jones’ warning came from.

Specifically, Sonnen said the following about Silva and why he’d be watching Jones as well as UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos and UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre, who Sonnen addressed as “Grease St-Pierre” when last he spoke to Landsberg:

“I’m done with the guy. He and I have no business. He’s cold product. He’s like Jheri Curls and Pepsi Clear. He’s yesterday’s news. I destroyed this guy back when he was tough. That was years ago. He’s so far over the hill and so far past his prime that it’s not worth talking about.

I’m going to become the No. 1 contender on January 28th and despite what you may think, I’m not going to use that voucher to fight Anderson Silva. I’ll be looking at (Jon) Jones, (Junior) dos Santos and possibly (Georges) St. Pierre. I will take that voucher to Dana White and pick one of those three guys. My time with Anderson is done.”

Is Sonnen for real about the prospect of a meeting with either St-Pierre, Dos Santos or Jones, or was there an ulterior motive involved?

Either way, as Jones said, Sonnen knows where Jones will be, so if Sonnen is feeling that froggy, he should know that Jones is giving him the green light to jump, but is this a jump that Sonnen should even dare to take?

When Sonnen is done watching, he will likely let the MMA world know exactly who has the 12 pounds of gold that Sonnen wants, but until then, he must prepare for the business that he and Mark Munoz will do when January 28th arrives.
