Several media outlets have recently confirmed a light heavyweight showdown between champion Jon Jones against former friend and teammate Rashad Evans.

The bout is said to take place at UFC 140, marking the organization’s return to Toronto on December 10 at the Air Canada Centre.

Both Jones and Evans have a long-standing feud stemming from a perceived lack of respect on “Bones'” part, to which Evans answered by leaving the Greg Jackson team in Albuquerque, N.M. and joining the budding Imperial Athletics camp in Boca Raton, Fla.

Many fans have jumped on the news in excitement, but UFC president Dana White has denied all rumors, while taking shots at Sherdog.com for contributing to the “(expletive)” rumors.

“LMFAO !!!! The day u start believing Sherdog!!! Haven’t people learned that lesson yet!? They are wrong AGAIN! :),” said White via Twitter, responding to a fan who asked about the impending Jones-Evans match taking place come this December.

Jones was last seen in action against former champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 135, which took place just a few weekends ago. The 24-year-old titleholder successfully defended his belt by submitting the former PRIDE legend with a rear-naked choke in the fourth round.

Evans, meanwhile, is riding a three-fight win streak, including victories over the likes of Thiago Silva, the aforementioned Jackson and most recently rival Tito Ortiz, whom “Sugar” defeated with second-round strikes this past August.

In his bout with Jackson, Jones appeared to have suffered some injuries to his legs and feet, courtesy of several low kicks landed on the plodding boxer. Accordingly, Jones was suspended for six months, though he can be cleared by a physician earlier if all bodes well.

So despite the many reports circulating the web at this moment, the UFC exec reminds everyone why he’s the man in charge.

“…mine is the only report that matters and the answer is no,” tweeted the head honcho.
