Reigning UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos does not like Alistair Overeem one bit.

In an exclusive interview with TATAME.com, the Brazilian said that Overeem doesn’t deserve a title shot, he deserves a beating.

I really told Dana White I’d love to fight Overeem. Beating Overeem, actually. That’s what’s going to happen when this bout actually happens. It would be a pleasure. From the way I see it, he didn’t deserve a title shot. Cain deserves it and that’s why we’re fighting. Overeem deserves to a beating and I’m going to arrange that.

Overeem was due to fight Dos Santos for the belt back in May at UFC 146. However, the challenger failed a random pre-fight drug test and was suspended for a year.

As he marks his eventual return, Overeem has engaged in no end of smack-talk, hoping to score himself a quick second chance for a title fight.

Such talk has clearly got under the champion’s skin.

Dos Santos has made it no secret that he wanted to fight Overeem ahead of Cain Velasquez, who earned his shot by mauling Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in May. There was even talk of Overeem jumping the queue and getting his title fight as soon as his suspension ended.

However, Overeem is banned until the end of the year, and the UFC can’t take the risk that he won’t be licensed in time for a December showdown.

Instead, Velasquez will fight Dos Santos for the second time on December 29 and look to avenge his earlier loss.

Even so, Dos Santos knows that he and the former Strikeforce champion are destined to meet (via TATAME.com):

I knew Velasquez was the contender, but if UFC wanted me to fight Overeem I’d gladly shut him up because he’s been saying a lot of crap, he’s been learning from Chael Sonnen.

I’m tired of these guys who think they’re so big, so strong, so bad and that people will get frightened by them because they look bad. There’s no such thing anymore. We’re athletes and the winner will be the one who trains the most. That’s what I have to say about it.

Dos Santos is scheduled to defend his title for the second time against Velasquez at UFC 155 on December 29.
