When MMA fighters Liz Carmouche and Alexis Davis step into the octagon at UFC Fight Night 31: Fight for the Troops 3, it will be Carmouche‘s striking ability that will lead her to victory.

Carmouche, nicknamed “Girl-Rilla,” has been one of the most impressive strikers the bantamweight division has ever seen.

Conquering six opponents by way of knockout, Carmouche has shown the MMA world that she can be one heck of a volume puncher when she wants to be.

Although she suffered a tough loss to the infamous Ronda Rousey, Carmouche‘s ability to throw an array of strikes at any given time should be enough for her to get past a tough opponent in Alexis Davis.

Boasting a 14-5 overall MMA record, Davis is one talented fighter, with big wins over Rosi Sexton and Shayna Baszler.

Known for her elite submission skills, Davis told MMAjunkie, “This is a really big fight for me. She is one of the top fighters, had her title shot, and this is a huge opportunity. It’s almost as if this is my title fight. This right now is my title fight.”

With Davis focused on making a statement, the fight between herself and Carmouche has a real chance to be an exciting one for fans to watch.

But when it comes down to it, it will be Carmouche‘s ability to dictate a fight with her strikes that might prove to be too much for Davis to overcome underneath the bright lights of UFC Fight Night 31.

Having been knocked out twice already in her career, it’s safe to say that Davis has never faced a striker quite like Carmouche before.

In order to find any sort of success in this fight, Davis will need to make the most out of her non-striking situations.

With a background in Brazilian and Japanese jiu-jitsu, Davis has already earned seven impressive submission victories in her MMA career.

For Davis to have any hope of winning this fight, she must embrace her strengths and take this fight to the ground as quickly as possible.

Overall, when looking at the outcome of this fight, the old adage “styles create matchups” comes to mind.

That’s why at UFC Fight Night 31: Fight for the Troops 3, Liz Carmouche‘s ability to inflict damage with her strikes should be enough to bring down the talented Davis.

MMA fans get your popcorn ready! This is going to be one fight you simply cannot miss!
