Rampage Jackson is causing a stir across the Internet after acting in a new video showing him in the process of attempting to commit a rape. Many believe he is tempting fate after Miguel Torres was fired from the UFC in December last year for making a rape joke.

The video is a viral marketing campaign for FilmOn.com, a website which offers free streaming broadcast TV channels from around the world. Titled “Rampage Jackson – How to Pick Up A Gurl – Fast”, the video seems designed to stir controversy, as it shows Rampage dressed as a rapist stalking a woman in an underground car park armed with chloroform and zip ties.

After sneaking up on the woman and attempting to kidnap her, the video further treads the line of taste, as the woman turns out to be a man who tries to rape Rampage instead.

Several UFC fighters have already been reprimanded for making light of rape, with Dana White saying “nobody has any business making jokes about rape.”

Dana was responding to questions about his decision to release Torres from the UFC after the bantamweight said on Twitter: ”If a rape van was called a surprise van more women wouldn’t mind going for rides in them. Everyone likes surprises.”

Dana also reprimanded Forrest Griffin, who had earlier tweeted that rape was becoming the new missionary after seeing reports of rape on CNN. The UFC has since re-signed Torres after the organisation came in for criticism over an incoherent policy on tasteless jokes.

Nevertheless, the Rampage video is bound to provoke a response from the UFC president at a time when rape jokes among fighters have become a topic of controversy. Rampage himself has fallen foul of the UFC in recent months after voicing his disquiet at the organisation.

“I don’t want to fight for the UFC no more,” Rampage said in an Inside MMA interview. “I think the fans don’t understand. They think that just because I make a lot of money, I should be happy – because I’ve got a nice house. I’ve always stated that I fight for money because it’s my career, but I think a lot of fans are sheep, and they don’t understand.”

Dana also attacked Rampage after his lacklustre performance at UFC 144 in Japan. Rampage lost to a unanimous decision.

The video, meanwhile, has been a runaway success for FilmOn, having garnered over 50,000 views on YouTube in a matter of days.
