Jon Jones returned to action for the first time since an early 2016 victory over Ovince Saint Preux, choking out Dan Henderson in the main event of Submission Underground 2 Sunday night from Portland.

The event allowed Jones to compete once more despite being suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission until next year due to a failed drug test.

Jones secured an arm-triangle choke just over six minutes into the bout, finally earning his long-awaited win over Henderson. The two were scheduled to meet way back at UFC 151 before an injury sidelined Henderson.

Following the win, Jones called out Submission Underground promoter Chael Sonnen for a match next year. Sonnen agreed and will meet the former UFC light heavyweight champion just a week after he faces Tito Ortiz at Bellator 170.

In the co-main event, Miesha Tate scored an overtime victory over Jessica Eye.

Jon Jones def. Dan Henderson via submission (arm-triangle choke) – 6:39
Miesha Tate def. Jessica Eye via overtime escape time
Jeff Monson def. Warren Brooks via first overtime submission (rear-naked choke) – 0:46
Joe Baize def. Shaun Kiatvongharoen via submission (heel hook) – 0:30
Kyra Batara def. Rita Lynne Gribben via overtime escape time
