In the fifth Facebook fight of the evening (or afternoon depending where you’re at), Josh Grispi took on George Roop in a featherweight tilt.

As soon as the referee signaled the fight as a “GO!”, Grispi rushed across the Octagon to get Roop to the mat. After a brief scramble, Grispi went for a kimura. After he couldn’t get that, he went for a guillotine. That didn’t work either, and Roop was able to get back to his feet.

After Roop nailed Grispi with about a dozen elbows, Grispi got another takedown. Despite getting the mount, Grispi was not able to mount any offense before Roop was able to get to his feet.

With a minute left in the round, it appeared that Grispi was running out of gas. Grispi jumped guard, and Roop pounded away on Grispi until the end of the round.

The second round began with Roop dropping Grispi with a front kick to the stomach.

From Grispi’s guard, Roop pushed the fight against the cage and laid some smack down on Grispi’s face. For the rest of the round, Roop stayed on top of Grispi and beat the crap out of him. Yeah, that’s the best way to put it.

In the third round, Grispi came out knowing he had to do something special, but it wasn’t happening. Roop nailed Grispi with some heavy leather, before getting taken down for a moment.

With 3:30 left in the fight, Grispi got another takedown, but it didn’t last long.

From the standing position, Roop nailed Grispi with a 17 shot combo before he hit Grispi “low.”

Once the fight continued, Roop continued to lay it on, nailed Grispi with a body shot that dropped him, and that was that.

The official end came via TKO at 3:14 of the third round.
