This Friday’s The Ultimate Fighter: Live finale will feature 12 of the 16 lightweights to advance through the elimination round of the reality series’ first FX-televised season. While four fighters won’t get a spot on the fight card due to injuries, all signs point to those 155-pound fighters getting another chance inside the Octagon.
The event will be headlined by lightweight finalists Mike Chiesa and Al Iaquinta, who each won four straight fights on the show to earn their spot in the tournament’s final bout. With only one loss between both of them, Chiesa and Ianquinta should have bright futures ahead of them in the UFC.
Welterweight contenders Jake Ellenberger and Martin Kampmann will set the stage for Chiesa and Iaquinta by engaging in a very important bout in the 170-pound title picture. With an impressive win over Kampmann, Ellenberger will have won seven straight and 11 of his past 12 fights, with his only loss during that time coming against interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit.
Before Saturday’s event, the fighters will hit the scales at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday. Video of the weigh-ins will be streamed live on the video player below. After the weigh-ins, stay tuned to B/R MMA for all the latest on the TUF finale and the rest of your MMA needs.
