Brian Stann is quickly shooting up the middleweight rankings and this weekend faces arguably his toughest opponent to date.
Jorge Santiago is no joke and is ranked eighth in the world. His striking may not be the stuff of the better fighters in the middleweight division, but he doesn’t need to rely on it.
Its Memorial Day weekend, and Stann is a former Marine himself. Its an important holiday to Stann. Fighting on this weekend is an added bonus to Stann. Stann is already a good fighter with striking that should be envied.
It’s a tough weekend and UFC 130 could be Stann’s coming out party. Already coming off of a win against Chris Leben, who by the way, is no joke in the standup game, where Leben was visibly rocked by Stann at least two to three times.
With a win this weekend, Stann could easily find himself among the top 15 or top ten middleweights in the world.
With Stann’s striking, this is a very good possibility.
