UFC 132 Fight Card Takes a Look at First Ever 135-Pound Main Event Fight in UFC

Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber will meet in the square off in a bantamweight fight in the main event of UFC 132.

The fight is expected to be very intense as both fighters don’t seem to like the other one.  They appear ready to dual and have been very vocal about their hatred for one another.

According to an interview with Yahoo Sports, Cruz says the rivalry began back at WEC 26, four years ago when Faber had the following to say to Cruz after he choked him out in the first round,

I went up to him and I said, Good fight. That was it. I said, Good fight, buddy.

I don’t think I was rubbing it in. I was just kind of like, Good fight. Try again, buddy. But he knows what I meant. He was right.

The rift between the two got even more heated when Cruz began to sign his name over Faber’s face at autograph signings.  Apparently Faber was not too fond of Cruz doing that to his pictures.

Faber went on to accuse Cruz of jealousy after Cruz won the bantamweight title, but Cruz denies that,

“But jealously? That’s just his big head talking again. It’s more along the lines of, ‘I’ve been a champion for a while now, and right after I win the title, it’s questions about losing to Urijah Faber, and not questions about how well I did winning my title.’ I’m ready for those questions to stop, and I’m ready to prove I’m the champion on Saturday night.”

Saturday night is upon us and Cruz now has the chance to prove that he is a champion, or he could lose his title when Faber defeats him.

There is no doubt this match will be a grudge match and it should be incredibly entertaining.
