How did everybody know this would end by KO in round two?!
Anderson Silva (31-4) easily handled Yushin Okami (26-6), and just continued to prove that he is the pound for pound greatest fighter on the planet.
The two had an intense staredown and no glove touch was offered from either fighter.
The Brazilian came out for Round 1 in typical Anderson Silva fashion, where he threw almost nothing and just looked to get Okami’s timing.
Toward the end of the first round, Silva hit Okami with a left high kick that rocked him, but Okami was saved by the bell.
Silva looked ready to go as Round 2 started. He pushed the pace and opened up right away.
Silva then began dropping his hands, daring Okami to hit him. As he was doing that, he was able to throw a straight right hand and drop Okami.
He let him up right away, not looking to finish.
After that, the exact same thing happened, but Silva went to finish this time and was able to end the fight at 2:04 of Round 2.
I don’t think it can really be argued about who the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter is anymore. Anderson Silva is on a 15-fight win streak, 14 in the UFC, he’s defended his title nine times in a row and he’s demolished everyone in his path.
What could possibly be next for the greatest fighter of all time?
