At UFC 137, former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz will finally make his long-awaited return to the Octagon.

Originally, Diaz was expected to meet with Georges St-Pierre for the world title, but a pair of pre-fight press conference no-shows later, the Stockton native pulled and then re-booked for the event, this time taking on former champ BJ Penn in the co-headliner.

Now, the duo have found their way to the main event tilt, as St-Pierre has since been sidelined due to injury.

Diaz will now have the chance to prove his meddle once again against a legend of the sport in what has become a three-round, non-title affair, although both sides have expressed interest in a five-round battle.
