Quinton “Rampage” Jackson returned to Japan after heavily campaigning UFC president, Dana White, for a fight on the UFC 144 fight card.
Rampage couldn’t find an answer for Ryan Bader dropping all three rounds to the young prospect. Rampage didn’t stick around in the cage after the fight and was visibly upset with his performance in front of what is technically his home crowd.
What we’ll remember about this fight:
Rampage showed a flash of his vintage self with the slam, but overall we could remember this as the fight Rampage retired after or the fight where we saw Rampage lose his luster.
What we learned about Rampage Jackson:
Rampage may have lost all his luster. He hasn’t knocked anybody out since Wanderlei Silva in 2008 and since then only has wins over Lyoto Machida, Matt Hamill and Keith Jardine.
What we learned about Ryan Bader:
Bader is still improving and can hang with the top of the division. Bader also recovered nicely after a huge slam by Rampage in the second round.
What’s next for Rampage:
Really depends on whether or not Rampage decides to stay in MMA and not retire.
What’s next for Bader:
If Forrest Griffin can get past Tito Ortiz, I could see a matchup between the two Ultimate Fighter winners.
