In just a few hours, light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and former light heavyweight champion, and Jones’ former training partner, Rashad Evans will finally face off in a fight that has been more than a year in the making.
Fans are torn in this fight, and can’t who will win between the two, or even who they want to win. According to a B/R MMA poll, more than 50 percent of fans will be rooting for Evans, about 35 percent for Jones and about 12 percent are “torn.”
However, if you ask the oddsmakers, it’s easy to see who people are putting their money on, as Jones is a -600 favorite and Evans is a +400 underdog.
This fight has the makings of a legendary bout, but it isn’t looking all that good for Evans.
As everyone knows, Jones has looked absolutely unstoppable in every single fight thus far in his career, and to put it plainly, Evans has not.
Evans has been taken down, rocked badly and I think we all know what happened when he got completely knocked out.
Jones has never been taken down, has only really been hit once and has basically never been in a bad position inside the Octagon.
Evans’ only hope in this fight is that his experience with Jones gives him an advantage, or that he is in Jones’ head and is able to capitalize on that.
If neither of those go the right way for Evans, expect Jones to pull out a TKO, and don’t expect him to hold anything back.
