It’s do or die for Miguel Torres at UFC 145.

After losing his bantamweight championship to Brian Bowles at WEC 42, Torres is 3-2 in MMA. Three years ago, Torres was considered one of the best fighters in the world, and tonight, he’s battling to get back in the mix.

To make matters worse, he’s facing one of the best upcoming fighters in Michael McDonald. McDonald has done nothing but impress since arriving in the UFC, and now Torres must go through him to find his way to another title shot.

If he loses to McDonald, his hopes of becoming the bantamweight champion start to diminish as he continues to age. Torres is in the hot seat, and it was easy to see at the weigh-ins. As McDonald had a big grin on his face, Torres mean-mugged him throughout the staredown.

It was as if he was trying to intimidate McDonald, and all McDonald could do was smile because he knew exactly what was going on. Because in his mind, along with many fans’ minds, he’s the future and Torres is the past.

Torres has to stop this from proving true, because his career could be in the balance. After all, it wasn’t too long ago that Torres was fired for some controversial tweets.

Should he come out and get completely dominated by the younger and, dare I say, more athletic McDonald, Torres’ Zuffa career may be hanging in the balance along with his position in the bantamweight title picture.

Simply put, it’s a must-win for Torres at UFC 145.
