Jon Jones has already disposed of three former UFC champions during his short reign as light heavyweight champion. At UFC 152, where he will face Vitor Belfort, Jones will attempt to add another former UFC champion to his growing list of victims.
Belfort won the light heavyweight title by beating Randy Couture via cut in the opening minute of a January 2004 bout. Undoubtedly, Belfort—despite competing at middleweight for his past three appearances—will be looking to earn the belt more decisively against Jones.
In addition to the 205-pound championship bout, Saturday’s event will also feature the UFC’s first ever flyweight title fight. After beating Yasuhiro Urushitani and Ian McCall in their respective semifinal bouts of a four-man tournament to determine the 125-pound division’s first titleholder, former bantamweight contenders Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson will try to capture the gold that eluded them at 135 pounds.
A middleweight matchup between Michael Bisping and Brian Stann will also be featured on the UFC 152 main card. The winner of that bout could take a big step toward a shot at the 185-pound title.
Before Saturday’s event, which will take place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, the fighters will hit the scales on Friday at 4 p.m. ET. Video of the weigh-ins will be streamed live on the above video player.
