LAS VEGAS — Chris Weidman is being given a better chance to win than any Anderson Silva opponent in recent memory.
According to the MGM Grand sports book (as of Thursday morning prior to the UFC 162 press conference), Silva is just a -250 favorite over Weidman. Typically, Silva is a -500 or more favorite over his opponents.
All of these numbers mean that Weidman is being given a good chance to beat Silva, or at least better than usual. And it’s not just fans and media picking Weidman; plenty of his fellow fighters have come out in support of Weidman‘s chances of becoming the new middleweight champion.
