Ever since UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva submitted top contender Chael Sonnen at UFC 117, the subject of a rematch has been a hot topic amongst MMA observers. Most fight fans take the Spider’s 185-pound supremacy at face value, but the ones who don’t point to Sonnen as the reason, and Chael is just fine with that.

The self-styled “American gangster” has called the champ out at each and every opportunity, trying to goad both Silva and the UFC into giving him the second chance he so covets.

That encore has yet to materialize—Sonnen had some much-publicized issues with various authorities in the wake of his near-upset in San Jose, while the Brazilian has added a couple more names to his hitlist in the meantime.

But both men are coming off impressive victories, and the time seems to be ripe for a rematch.
