UFC Fight Night 26 will help launch the new 24-hour sports network, Fox Sports 1.
In the main event, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Chael Sonnen will battle in a light heavyweight tilt. Both fighters are looking to rebound from recent losses, and the winner will be back in the mix. The loser of this bout will slip in to irrelevance for the foreseeable future.
The co-main event features two top 10 heavyweights. No. 5-ranked Alistair Overeem and No. 8-ranked Travis Browne will try to make a case for being mentioned in title contention. This fight will likely end before the judge’s scorecards.
Also in action, two key bantamweight bouts featuring three top five talents. No. 2-ranked Urijah Faber battles Iuri Alcantara, and No. 3-ranked Michael McDonald goes toe-to-toe with No. 5-ranked Brad Pickett.
