UFC Fight Night 35 featured some brutal finishes and high-octane, back-and-forth bouts, creating a wholly entertaining and satisfying event for fight fans across the globe.

Unfortunately for the combatants, the action inside the Octagon is very real, and a rock-em’, sock-em’, crowd-pleasing affair usually comes with some harmful consequences.

Just ask Derek Brunson.

The middleweight fighter went 13 minutes with the massive and powerful former Olympian Yoel Romero, besting his elder in all facets of the game before getting clipped with a powerful left hand and follow-up barrage. (GIF courtesy of Zombie Prophet, @ZProphet_MMA.)

The loss was unfortunate for Brunson’s career, but he earned a cool $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus for his efforts.

He’ll want to buy some ice cream and soft foods with this check because he received an indefinite suspension due to a dislocated jaw suffered during the event.

Romero, on the other hand, will sit out just seven days for precautionary measures.

On the flip side, even winners are not always safe inside the cage.

Cole Miller beat Sam Sicilia via rear-naked choke in Round 2 of their fight, a bout which Miller thoroughly dominated from start to finish.

Despite the one-sided nature of their affair, Miller received a 45-day suspension due to a broken hand.
