Mixed martial artists have a strange job. I don’t think anyone will deny that as fact. When your occupation is to step inside a locked cage and try and knock out another person or to wrench one of their limbs to a point where they can no longer continue to compete for fear of long-term damage or due to the sheer pain—well, that’s a job that most folks wouldn’t consider.

Like most jobs, the folks that punch the clock as professional mixed martial artists take some pride in a job well done.

Bleacher Report recently caught up with several big names in the sport and got them to open up as to what their proudest moment has been to date inside the Octagon.

The opinions are varied and explained well, and almost every fighter polled comes to a different conclusion for different reasons. You have the fighters that are proud that they battled adversity, the individuals that gave all they had inside the cage, fighters that are proud of their evolution in the sport and those that are most proud of what they overcame outside the Octagon as they readied for a fight.

The list of fighters spoken to include: Frank Mir, Benson Henderson, Mark Munoz, Jake Ellenberger, Phil Davis Luke Rockhold, Tyron Woodley and Travis Browne.

Take some time to see what makes these folks tick.
