Controversial UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen has fired back at Wanderlei Silva after “The Axe” Murderer” had some choice words about Uncle Chael during an interview with Tatame Friday.
The Team Quest standout did not seem all that shaken up about the Brazilian’s words when he tweeted this afternoon:
Wanderlei: If I have to find you face to face every time I choose to ridicule you… (1/2)

Sonnen finished his thought by saying:
…my frequent flyer miles would go faster than you can say “former Brazilian who lives in Vegas.” (2/2)

Sonnen’s response is relatively tame considering the hatred Wanderlei spit his way:
“I have nothing to say to him. I won’t give him that kinda audience. I don’t care about what he says, I’m not interested. If he wants to say those things looking me in the eye, come here. But that way, saying things when we’re distant, he’s an ass face. Only (expletive) say things at your back”.
The former PRIDE star also feels that Sonnen would not have the courage to say anything disparaging to him in a face to face encounter.
“Never. If he does that he’ll leave with a red burning ear,” Silva told Tatame.
This is just the latest round in an ongoing war of words between Silva and Sonnen.
In the past, Sonnen has said he is more intimidated by Axe body spray than Wanderlei and Silva has said “I will kill him fast” if him and Chael’s paths ever cross again.
Sonnen currently headlines UFC 148 where he will take on arch rival Anderson Silva with the UFC middleweight title on the line, while Wanderlei Silva will rematch fellow Brazilian Vitor Belfort at UFC 147.
