Just days after UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and former UFC middleweight title challenger Chael Sonnen went at it on Twitter, “The American Gangster” has added more fuel to the fire.
On Friday night, it first looked like Chael just had to get the last word in:
The toughest fight you’ve had at 205 was the chump who snatched the old ladies purse while you were playing on the swings at the park.

Prior to winning the title from Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 128, Jones subdued a robber in Paterson, N.J.
“Bones” choose not to respond this this time around, but after waiting a couple days, Sonnen decided he had come up with too much quality material to let Jones off the hook just yet:

This was the first in a series of three tweets where Sonnen formatted his messages to look like he was retweeting something Jones had already said. While that wasn’t actually the case, it didn’t stop “Uncle Chael” from continuing the trend:

The former two-time All-American wrestler at the University of Oregon concluded his Twitter tirade with:

As of early Monday afternoon, Jones has still not given in and responded to any of Sonnen’s latest tweets directed at him.
Jones next defends his title against Sonnen’s Team Quest teammate, Dan Henderson, at UFC 151, while Sonnen returns to the light heavyweight division for a rematch with Forrest Griffin on Dec. 29.
Is Sonnen doing a good job of talking his way into another title shot, or is he simply being annoying at this point?
