If you’re anything like me, you’ve gotten tired of beating up on Kimbo Slice on UFC Undisputed 2010 at this point, and you’re wondering when you can start cracking virtual skulls with UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo.
Unfortunately, Sherdog has reported that we will have to wait until January 2012 for the third edition of UFC Undisputed.
The UFC has announced some of the new features that will be available on UFC Undisputed 3, though.
“We are excited to launch ‘UFC Undisputed 3’ in January 2012 and expect it to be the best version yet,” UFC President Dana White said. “We’ve added two new weight classes and several new features to the game that will bring UFC fans closer to the Octagon than ever before.”
The third installment of the video game will include more than 150 playable characters, including featherweights and bantamweights for the first time.
And for those of you who hopelessly pray for a re-introduction of Pride rules in MMA, UFC Undisputed 3 will feature a Pride mode, which will allow gamers to deliver knees, soccer kicks and stomps to the head of a grounded opponent. (I suggest avoiding fights with Mauricio Rua and Wanderlei Silva in this mode.)
Perhaps the best part of the Pride mode, though, will be the use of a different set of commentators than UFC fans have become accustomed to. Stephen Quadros and the legendary Bas Rutten will call the fights for these bouts.
Finally, UFC Undisputed 3 will showcase enhanced animations, fighter walk-outs (Please, let Jason “Mayhem” Miller be included in this game.) and new camera angles.
