The “Notorious” Conor McGregor had a lot to celebrate after UFC 205, which took place on Saturday (Nov. 12, 2015) night from the famed Madison Square Garden in New York.
After all, the motor mouthed Irishman put on a spectacular performance in the evening’s main event, demolishing Eddie Alvarez in the second round to become not only the undisputed lightweight champion, but also the first fighter in promotional history to hold two titles in different weight classes at one time.
After his historic victory, McGregor hosted his after party at a club in New York City according to MMAJunkie, and apparently McGregor’s old rival Nate Diaz took the time to show up. The two seemed to avoid each other, but TMZ was able to capture footage of Diaz making an appearance.
Check out the clip below:
McGregor and Diaz first met back at UFC 196 in March 2016 when Diaz shocked the world by scoring a second round submission victory over the “Notorious” one. McGregor was then obsessed with a rematch and the two ran it back at August 20’s UFC 202 when McGregor was able to score a majority decision victory.
After the rematch, the Irishman said that a trilogy bout would take place down the line, and perhaps there’s no better time given the fact that he now holds the 155-pound strap. After all, Diaz is ranked No. 4 at lightweight, and he sure did his part in drumming up interest for a third bout.
