Is There Truth to “Spy Gate”? Why Did This Dude Leonard Resign from MusclePharm?

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson tweeted today that he revealed the first name, “Leonard” as the “spy” who was filtering information on his camp at MusclePharm to Jon Jones‘ team: And in rather coinicidental news, an Executive.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson tweeted today that he revealed the first name, “Leonard” as the “spy” who was filtering information on his camp at MusclePharm to Jon Jones‘ team:

And in rather coinicidental news, an Executive Vice President of MusclePharm named, Leonard Armenta has recently (as of September 16th) resigned from his position with the supplemental company whose new training facility housed Jackson during his UFC 135 training camp. Could this serve as proof to Jackson’s accusations or is it one misfortunate misunderstanding? Jon Jones tweeted his regards to the employee who was fired due to “Rampage[‘]s paranoia.”

Fightline provides us with the terms of Armenta’s resignation citing that a filing with Securities and Exchange Commission shows: “the resignation was not a result of any disagreements with the company on any matters relating to the operations, polices or practices of MusclePharm.”

We’re sure there is more to come surrounding “spy gate” and we’re even more positive that we’re going to get an amazing showdown out of this thing come tomorrow night! So really, whether this stuff is true or not, it’s totally win-win for us! Bet you those pay-per-view buys go through the roof!

Upon learning of Dan Henderson’s return to the UFC, it was only expected he would receive a big fight, preferably a title bout or a bout that had title implications surrounding it.

And according to Anderson Silva‘s manager, Ed Soares, it appears that a rematch between Silva and Henderson could come to fruition.

“They mentioned it to us,” Soares told Fighthype.com.

“Anderson had a shoulder problem that he actually injured a few weeks before the Okami fight. He wasn’t able to take the fight as quickly as they would have liked him to,” Soares said.

Silva and Henderson previously met three years ago at UFC 82 in a unification bout for the UFC middleweight title.

Silva looked to have his hands full in the opening round as Henderson easily controlled the Brazilian and brought him to the canvas, but Silva would emerge victorious after submitting the former PRIDE star in the second round.

Initially, Henderson requested a middleweight bout with Silva, however when the Brazilian declined, Henderson accused him of being scared. Henderson would agree to face Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 139 instead, leaving an anticipated rematch between the two competitors up in the air momentarily.

Soares pointed to the injury that would have prevented Silva from performing to his ability.

“At this point, he’s 36, about to turn 37, so he has to make sure to nurture those injuries,” he said.

“He has to make sure he is 100 percent healthy every time he goes in there.”

UFC 135 Live Steaming: Where to Watch Youthful Jones Take Down Rampage

If you are looking for a poignant story amongst the fights at UFC 135, you can do no better than Jon Jones vs. Rampage Jackson in a Light Heavyweight bout. One era will battle another for the pride and prestige of the title.

Quinton Jackson has done little rampaging as of late. After a loss to Rashad Evans, he took victories against Lyoto Machida and Matt Hamill to the distance.

Many are under the impression that Jackson has stagnated as a fighter, a plausible opinion for a man that has been in the sport for as along as he has.

On Sunday, he will be taking on the new bad boy of the sport. Jon Jones is as complete as they come in his size and build.

Jones’ style is versatile and will take Jackson’s complete wits to maneuver around. Trust me when I say that you don’t want to miss a moment of this fight. Here is where you can catch all the drama.

Fight Info

The event is set for Saturday, September 24th and will start at 6 p.m. EST.

All of the fights will be available by pay-per-view. They will also be available by streaming at UFC.tv, Yahoo! Sports, UStream, Android or iPhone for $44.99.

The preliminary fights starting at 8 p.m. EST will also be on Spike TV.

End of an Era

What has me hopeful for Jones retaining the title is his work ethic. Jackson has never been known as a workhorse int he gym.

Jones deems his task as a simple matter of out working his opponent.

I’ve simplified my playbook a little. I’m still working on a 1,000 different kicks but I’ve also tried to work one kick a thousand times. You beat Rampage Jackson in the gym; you beat him because you want it more in the gym for months. That’s why I feel the fight has already been won.

Meanwhile, Jackson was left to mutter “For recent fights, it has been hard to work one hundred percent and I am a person if I am not motivated, I am unmotivatable. But no one has needed to try to motivate me for this fight; I want my belt back.”

I will take the fighter that doesn’t rely on flipping a switch, and would rather train until he can’t feel his limbs. That sort of work ethic is needed in a bout of this magnitude.

Jackson is still a great fighter. That is an assumption that Jones has done well to work under. on Saturday, we will see that hard work pays off.

Kimbo Slice Returns to MMA, Takes on Fellow Street Fighter "Dada 5000"

Former UFC fighter Kevin Ferguson—who is more affectionately known as “Kimbo Slice“—will be returning to the cage once again.

After a 1-1 stint inside the Octagon, Ferguson returned to competitive competition on August 13, injecting himself into the professional boxing circuit. Kimbo immediately made headlines when he knocked out opponent James Wade in just a matter of seconds.

Under the thumb of boxing promoter Gary Shaw, who first worked with Kimbo under the now defunct EliteXC banner, the street fighting legend was thought to have a promising career as a boxer, though those aspirations will be put on hold for the time being.

Fellow ex-street fighter Dhafir Harris, who goes by the alias “DADA 5000”, will be meeting his fellow Floridian at an as-of-yet-announced mixed martial arts bout in the World of Fighting Organization.  The two men will compete for the promotion’s heavyweight title. Harris revealed those plans when he was a guest on the Rodolfo Roman show, stating that the bout will take place sometime in January of next year, possibly in Las Vegas or in their backyard (no pun intended) of Orlando, Florida.

DADA 5000 is currently undefeated as a pro, holding a 2-0 record, both coming by way of knockout.  Kimbo was last seen in the midst of a chain-linked fence when he took on Matt Mitrione at UFC 113 in May of last year, succumbing to second-round strikes from the undefeated prospect, which eventually prompted Slice to pursue an aspiring career as a boxer.

Stay tuned for more as the story develops.

UFC 135 Results: Live Updates and Reaction

Jon “Bones” Jones is your reigning UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, and in the minds of his supporters, it’s not hard to envision him as the MMA World Light Heavyweight Champion if he should ever face and defeat Dan Henderson after a win over former training partner “Suga” Rashad Evans.

However, that fight with Henderson doesn’t come until after a win over Evans, and Henderson’s meeting with Jones only happens if two things happen, the first of which is something on Jones’ end in the form of an old rival of Henderson.

Maybe you’ve heard of this man: his name is Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion of the world, only man to defeat Chuck Liddell twice, and the only guy to score a (still-controversial) decision win over Lyoto Machida.

Real simple, MMA World: Jones has the belt, Rampage wants the belt, Rashad wants the winner, and Henderson wants to become the first UFC fighter to knock out Mauricio “Shogun” Rua without having to hear about a long layoff or ring rust afterwards, but first up is the biggest test of Jones’ career in Denver, Colorado.

Also up for huge testing is Josh Koscheck, who faces UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes in what is Hughes’ last fight under UFC contract, but despite not having fought in a year himself, Koscheck could be the man known as the man who ended Hughes’ UFC career on a sour note.

All this, plus Dana White‘s beautifully polished cranium is right here, as this is UFC 135, right here on Bleacher Report MMA!
