Opening up the UFC Copenhagen main card is a welterweight bout between the returning Nicolas Dalby and Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira.

Round 1: The first round started off quick as both fighters attempted to get their striking going in the first minute. However, neither fighter really connected with anything significant as they eventually got into a clinch position with Oliviera backed up against the cage. Oliviera was able to reverse the position and get Dalby down. As the round was coming to an end, “Cowboy” attempted to land strikes before Dalby got up and took him down just before the bell.

Round 2: The second round started the same as the first with a quick pace. Dalby landed a head kick on Oliveira who took it well. The fight then went to the ground as Dalby reversed Oliveira from a clinch position where he controlled him and landed strikes. Oliveira eventually stood up and absorbed some strikes before being taken down and appearing to land illegal upkicks. Still, this was very much a Dalby round.

Round 3: Dalby attempted a head kick which was just dodged by Oliveira. He then clinched up with Oliveira. “Cowboy” reversed by getting underhooks and then taking Dalby down. He proceeded to land strikes and work before the referee oddly stood them up. The fight eventually went to the ground again with Dalby ending the round strongly.

Official Result: Nicolas Dalby defeated Alex Oliveira via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

UFC welterweight Alex Oliveira is innocent of his ex-wife’s claims of assault according to his team.

It was recently reported that the Brazilian was wanted by police in his hometown of Tres Rios for not only assaulting his ex-wife, but for child endangerment too. In addition, he was also wanted for allegedly threatening a security guard at a party.

Oliveira’s team, though, recently told MMA Fighting that the fighter was innocent. However, they declined to make any comments on the matter as of now.

MMA Fighting adds that Oliveira and his lawyer went to the police on Monday to explain their side of the story. Tres Rios police are currently investigating the allegations.

“Cowboy” was alleged by his ex-wife to have been under the influence of alcohol when he arrived to take their baby away. The woman claimed Oliveira later assaulted her with punches and pulled her hair. He was also said to have broken windows and doors before driving away with their son.

Oliveira later left the child with his sister but was nowhere to be found.

The 31-year-old was most recently outpointed by Mike Perry last month, and is currently on a two-fight losing streak. He is notably 2-3 in his last five fights as well.

UFC welterweight Alex Oliveira will meet with police over an alleged assault against his ex-wife in Tres Rios, Rio de Janeiro this coming Monday.

The news was confirmed by MMA Junkie after precinct chief Andre Lourenco told the media outlet about it on Sunday. The expected meeting comes after an alleged incident that took place Saturday.

According to his ex-wife, Oliveira was intoxicated when he showed up to meet her and their 5-month-old baby. He left with the baby on his motorcycle. It was also alleged that he assaulted her with punches and pulled her by the hair.

Once the local police were contacted, officers began attempts to locate Oliveira and the child. They found the child with one of Oliveira’s sisters. However, Oliveira was nowhere to be found.

“The child was delivered to the mother and we started our diligence in attempts to find him,” Lourenco said. “He wasn’t located. Then, (Sunday), we tried contact with his coach and couldn’t, then, his family.

“Then his lawyer got in touch with us and said he’s going to present himself tomorrow. He didn’t say where he was. He could be in Rio de Janeiro, he could be in many places. The fact is that it doesn’t justify a manhunt of him, given the nature of the fact.”

As of this writing, no warrant has been issued for Oliveira’s arrest. This comes from Oliveira’s team, who issued a statement about the incident as well as meeting with the police.

Lourenco noted that he will request an arrest if Oliveira doesn’t show up and has already set up an inquiry into the accusation. Oliveira could potentially face charges. Those charges include bodily injury within the Maria da Penha law and exposing the life and health of others to danger.

The ex-wife has undergone a physical forensic exam, but the report hasn’t been made available yet.

UFC welterweight Alex Oliveira is reportedly wanted in Brazil for a number of allegations including assault and child endangerment.

According to Brazilian news outlet G1 (via The Body Lock), Oliveira’s ex-wife claimed she was at the fighter’s parents’ house on Saturday to visit their son in the Morada do Sol district of Tres Rios, Rio de Janeiro.

Oliveira arrived drunk “wanting to ride the bike [his motorcycle] with the baby.” The woman’s testimony added that Oliveira then assaulted her by pulling her hair as well as striking her.
