UFC veteran Jim Miller will take on Alexander Hernandez in a short-notice bout at the upcoming UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Blanchfield, aka UFC Vegas 69.

Jim Miller was initially set to take on Gabriel Benetiz in what promised to be a fun action fight at 155lbs. However, Benetiz would withdraw from the fight due to an undisclosed reason some 2 weeks out before the fight. The UFC would reveal the lineup to the main card of UFC Vegas 69 during last weekend’s Fight Night event, featuring Jim Miller vs. ‘TBD,’ much to the amusement of MMA fans on Twitter.

However, renowned MMA reporter Alex Behunin has since revealed that Alexander Hernadez will be stepping in to face ‘A-10.’ Hernandez is coming off a failed drop down in weight to 145lbs, coming up short against Billy Quarantillo, despite having success early in the fight. Now coming back in his natural weight class, ‘The Great Ape’ will attempt to get his career back on track with a win over one of the UFC’s longest-serving veterans.

Despite nearing his 40th birthday, Jim Miller has continued to impress as of late. ‘A-10’ is currently riding a three-fight win streak, having picked up wins over Erick Gonzalez, Nikolas Motta, and most recently, Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone.

Billy Quarantillo

Turning in his first victory since July of last year when he stopped Gabriel Benitez with strikes — Billy Quarantillo rebounds to the winner’s enclosure on the preliminary card of UFC 282 tonight against Alexander Hernandez, rallying to secure a second round standing TKO win.

Quarantillo, who had entered tonight’s clash with Hernandez off the back of a unanimous decision loss to promotional alum, Shane Burgos at UFC 268 back in November of last year, dealt with some significant adversity in the opening round his clash with Hernandez, who had made his featherweight divisional bow in tonight’s preliminary card outing.

Forcing Hernandez to fight off the fence throughout the second round ahead of the eventual stoppage on the feet, Quarantillo poured forward with pressure, landing a series of knees as he swelled the face of the former, lodging his seventeenth career triumph and eighth knockout win in the process.

Brazilian finisher, Renato Moicano finds himself in the midst of another winning run during his Octagon tenure — chalking up his second consecutive victory with a second round rear-naked choke win against Alexander Hernandez on the main card of UFC 271.

Adding Hernandez to a prior victory over former Cage Warriors lightweight best, Jai Herbert, Moicano, a former interim featherweight champion under the Jungle Fight banner in his native Brazil — showed off his eye-catching Muay Thai upstairs against Hernandez in the run-up to the finish.

Wobbling Hernandez with a straight right hand, Moicano then wound up on top from a frail takedown attempt, and took Hernandez’s back. Securing a body triangle, Moicano latched onto a rear-naked choke, forcing an eventual tap from Hernandez.
