UFC Veteran Mark Hunt is looking for his next fight. It’s an interesting time for him right now as he is closing in on the end of his career and only has two fights left on his UFC contract.
He was last seen in the Octagon back in February when he lost by unanimous decision to Curtis Blaydes at UFC 221.
As a result of this loss, it ended his hopes of having another title shot. The belief is that Hunt will leave the promotion once his deal is up due to the fact of him suing the company.
Hunt has two names in mind for a potential fight this summer. He wants Francis Ngannou or Alexander Volkov.
“We’re looking to see if I can get Ngannou for August in Hawaii – that’d be great,” Hunt told Sporting News recently. “Ngannou would be good for me, or [Alexander] Volkov, who just beat Fabricio – if he’s still available.
“I’m just trying to get someone higher than me. I’ve got two fights left, so I’m seeing if I can get Ngannou. I don’t know if they’ve confirmed Hawaii, but it’d be a great match… see who shoots for the takedown first.
I fought a guy that was beneath me last time, so I want someone higher now,” Hunt said. “Even Werdum, I want that rematch, but Ngannou would be a better match. Even give me Blaydes again and I’ll have another shot at him.”
Ngannou is coming off a loss to heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic back in January at UFC 220 while Volkov is coming off a loss to light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.
It should be noted that Blaydes and Alistair Overeem are expected to fight one another at UFC 225. However, a rematch with Werdum would be fitting at this point. If you recall, Werdum knocked out Hunt to claim the interim heavyweight title.
Most guys seem scared of Francis N'Gannou Come see the old War Horse if your keen to dancehttps://t.co/6AcTpIxszC

Fabricio Werdum suffered a knockout loss at the hands of Alexander Volkov in the main event of UFC Fight Night 127 from the O2 Arena in London, England, on Saturday, but Werdum appears to be in good spirits following the brutal loss.
Volkov ended Werdum’s night in the fourth round after an otherwise solid performance from the former heavyweight champion.
The loss snapped a two-fight win streak for the Brazilian, who had beaten Walt Harris and Marcin Tybura before falling to the former Bellator heavyweight champion in Saturday night’s main event.
But the experienced vet won’t let it keep him down.
The knockout loss to Volkov marks the third time in Werdum’s career where he’s been finished by strikes. As for Volkov, the victory is his sixth win in a row, and he remains undefeated in the UFC since signing in 2016.
Are Werdum’s hopes for another shot at the belt totally lost at this point?

UFC rising contender Alexander Volkov is on top of the world right now and wants another big fight.
As seen in the main event of Saturday’s (March 17, 2018) UFC London event on the promotion’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass, at The O2 Arena in London, England, Volkov knocked out former UFC heavyweight champion Fabrício Werdum.
Now, Volkov will keep a close eye on the next big fight that the UFC is putting on.
It’s been well documented that UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will fight UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 226. They will also coach the next season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF).
Volkov will be watching for the winner of this upcoming fight and doesn’t care who the champion is because he just wants to fight the winner of it in Russia.
“I’ll be happy if it happens in September or maybe in autumn in Russia – for the first event in Russia,” Volkov told reporters after his stunning knockout of ex-champ Fabricio Werdum at UFC Fight Night 127, which took place at The O2 in London (transcript courtesy of MMA Junkie). “If the UFC gives me this, I’ll be really happy.”
“I’ll be waiting for the stronger guy,” Volkov said. “I’m just waiting for one of them. It doesn’t matter, because for me, it’s OK for me to win using my striking. I work with wrestling and jiu-jitsu a lot, but I prefer to use my striking.”
“We were playing with each other and getting under each others’ skin,” Volkov said. “In the end, the only thing I’m unhappy about is I had to finish him and hit him a couple of times while he was unconscious. I hope he didn’t receive too much damage, and I hope we’re still friends after this.”

UFC Fight Night 127 popped off today (Saturday, March 17, 2018) from The O2 Arena in London, England. The slate was main-evented by big men Fabricio Werdum and Alexander Volkov. The Russian cracked Werdum’s chin in the fourth round and likely cracked the top-five as a result. His come-from-behind finish – he had spent much of the first 10 minutes on his back eating punches and elbows from the Brazilian – could net Volkov a crack at the winner of the Miocic-Cormier heavyweight title tilt. It definitely net him an extra $50,000, as Volkov was awarded one of the Performance of the Night bonuses.
The other Performance of the Night went to Scotsman Paul Craig, who authored an even more dramatic come-from-behind win. Craig got taken down and beaten up by newcomer and highly-touted prospect Magomed Ankalaev for most of their preliminary fight. But the Dagestani wrestler paid for his conservative approach – he had Craig in serious trouble from mount to end round one, but never got really aggressive on top again. With the clock winding down and Ankalaev again on top landing moderate ground and pound, Craig chucked up a Hail Mary submission – and got it. Ankalaev tapped to a triangle choke with one second left in a fight he might have won 30-26. Craig kept his spot on the UFC roster and goes home $50,000 richer for setting the record for the latest finish in a three-round fight.
The Fight of the Night went to the co-main event, as Jan Blachowicz and Jimi Manuwa put on a spirited war that far outshined their first fight from 2016. Blachowicz badly rocked and knocked Manuwa down in the first round, but the Brit proved resilient. “Poster Boy” continued to walk down Blachowicz, scoring with vicious left hooks to the body and kicks to all levels, but his deadly power punches could never quite find their mark upstairs. Blachowicz continued to jab, slip, and counter effectively, and rode out a decision victory. By the end, both men were bloody messes, but both will go home $50,000 richer for their efforts.
