Andrei Arlovski has issued an apology for the homophobic slur he used after his win over Ben Rothwell.

He was asked about people saying his chin was gone where he went on this profane rant.

“Once again I will tell everyone shut your f*****g mouths about my glass chin, so go f**k yourself, f****s,” Arlovski said in the post-fight scrum. “That’s it. I proved to everyone, you’re f*****g wrong.”

Now, Arlovski issued an apology to MMA Junkie over the use of the homophobic slur.

“I apologize to anyone I offended with my poor choice of words,” Arlovski said. “I did not mean to offend any one group or person. I’m deeply sorry and will not use these type of words in the future.”

The UFC also released a statement on these comments to MMA Junkie where they had this to say.

“UFC is aware of the recent remarks from heavyweight athlete Andrei Arlovski,” the promotion said in a statement. “The organization does not condone any disparaging comments regarding race, religion and/or sexual orientation. We have already addressed this issue directly with Andrei and his team. This is an ongoing priority for the organization, and there will be continued monitoring of these types of situations moving forward.”

Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski got a pivotal win this past weekend — and the emotions may have gotten to his head a bit.

Arlovski ended a run of four fights without a win when he outclassed Ben Rothwell over three rounds in their heavyweight encounter on the main card of UFC San Antonio last night. In an emotional post-fight interview, “The Pit Bull” shed tears before sounding off on his critics who criticized his ability to take a punch:

“Once again I will tell everyone shut your (expletive) mouths about my ‘glass chin,’ so go f*ck yourself, fa**ots,” Arlovski said in an interview with MMA Junkie. “That’s it. I proved to everyone you’re f*cking wrong.”

He would later apologize on Sunday for his use of homophobic language in a statement to MMA Junkie:

“I apologize to anyone I offended with my poor choice of words,” Arlovski said. “I did not mean to offend any one group or person. I am deeply sorry and will not use these type of words in the future.”

The UFC was made aware and claimed they have already addressed the issue with Arlovski as well:

“UFC is aware of the recent remarks from heavyweight athlete Andrei Arlovski,” the promotion said in a statement. “The organization does not condone any disparaging comments regarding race, religion and/or sexual orientation.

We have already addressed this issue directly with Andrei and his team. This is an ongoing priority for the organization, and there will be continued monitoring of these types of situations moving forward.”

Andrei Arlovski vs. Ben Rothwell in a heavyweight bout opens the main card of the UFC San Antonio event:

Round 1: Rothwell was pressing him early and Arlovski started throwing more strikes than usual this early. Arlovski lost his balance after eating a strike but resets and returns fire. Arlovski answered with his own combo that rocked Rothwell. Rothwell had a cut under his left eye and was bleeding pretty good. Arlovski connected with back-to-back spinning back fists.

Round 2: Rothwell cracks Arlovski with a right hook right out of the gate. Arlovski just grazed him with a head kick as he continues to close in and land right hooks. Rothwell clinches with him up against the fence and did some dirty boxing. This upset the crowd with some boos.

Round 3: Arlovski was just faster firing off shots and Rothwell just ate them. Arlovski landed his jab at will before Rothwell clinched up with him against the fence. The fans booed even louder. They exchanged to end the round.

Results: Andrei Arlovski def. Ben Rothwell by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
