Conor McGregor finds it to be a tough test ahead for Anthony Joshua to win in his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk.

Their first encounter inside the ring took place last September, when Usyk outclassed Joshua for a unanimous decision victory. Continuing his undefeated run as a professional, Usyk unified the world championship belts after handing Joshua the second defeat of his career. Ahead of their rematch, Usyk had announced that he will fund relief in Ukraine by selling NFTs before the fight.

Talking to Sky Sports about his return to action, Conor McGregor weighed in on the immediate rematch that is expected to take place on July 23 in the Middle East.

“It didn’t go so well the last time. It’s a tough ask,” McGregor said. “AJ is a good guy and I wish him well. Usyk is a great guy as well and I hope for a good bout for both men. The heavyweight division is on fire at the minute. Good things are happening.”

‘The Notorious’ believes that the heavyweight division in boxing is in good health with exciting matchups ahead. While he acknowledged the Olympic gold medalist as a good person, it would seem like McGregor is not confident about Joshua securing a win over the Ukrainian.

Conor McGregor plans boxing return

After suffering a horrific leg break in his latest outing at UFC 264, Conor McGregor is currently swift in recovery from a fractured tibia and fibula. The Irish superstar is plotting his return to mixed martial arts slowly ramping up his training. He’s shared continuous updates with his fans and has already gotten back to working on the pads with punches.

“Boxing is my first love in combat sports. I had such a great time the last time I was out there,” he said. “Obviously, my return will be in the octagon for UFC – that story is far from over, in fact it’s just being written, it is just the beginning.

“But, boxing, for sure I will grace the squared circle again in the future.”

How do you think Conor McGregor would fare in a return to boxing?

Oleksandr Usyk

Oleksandr Usyk will use some of his money that he earns from the Anthony Joshua rematch to fund some of the relief efforts in the Ukraine.

Usyk beat Joshua in September of 2021 when he unified the world champion belts. He beat Joshua by unanimous decision and continued his undefeated streak while handing Joshua just his second loss of his career.

This fight means even more for Usyk, as he is fighting for his country as well. Ukraine at the moment is being attacked and invaded by the Russian government. Many citizens have taken up arms to defend their home and Usyk was one of those people brave enough. He joined the defense of the Ukraine and was granted leave time to train for his second fight against Joshua. t’s looking as if the fight may happen sooner rather than later, and could happen this summer.

Oleksandr Usyk will be selling NFTs to fund The Ukrainian relief in hopes that it will make upwards of one million dollars

Usyk will be selling around 2,000 NFTs that will go to his charity, The Usyk Foundation.

“Many people in Ukraine are now seeking help,” Usyk said, “We think that as soon as it’s released, many people will actually receive this help – people who actually need it.” (Transcribed by BSNSports)

Usyk will be teaming up with a designer named Dosbrak to make these NFTs that will be released in the lead to his rematch. Dosbrak had worked with other fighters like Conor McGregor in the past as well. To go along with the NFTs, two random buyers will be granted tickets to the fight as well.

UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman wants boxing star Anthony Joshua to come train with him to iron out his clinch work.

Usman’s stock has skyrocketed over the past few years, and most notably in 2021, as arguably one of the most dominant UFC champions ever. He’s most recently earned knockouts over Gilbert Burns and Jorge Masvidal along with a unanimous decision win over Colby Covington.

Usman has become a major fixture in the world of combat sports, as further evidenced by his recent invitation to Joshua to work on his wrestling. After watching a clip of Joshua getting some wrestling training in, Usman offered his services to the heavyweight boxing star.

“Ah ah my brother, you for call me nah,” Usman commented in ‘Pidgin English’. “Dis is my specialty.”

Usman has most recently teased a potential money fight against boxing champion Canelo Alvarez in due time. Once thought of as a grappling specialist, Usman’s striking has vastly improved over his past few wins in the Octagon.

Joshua is set for a rematch against Oleksandr Usyk in 2022. He had been on track to face Tyson Fury before losing his heavyweight titles to Usyk earlier this year and activating his rematch clause.

This isn’t the first time Joshua has been seen training in MMA during his boxing camps. He most recently trained with former UFC middleweight Luke Barnatt and has enhanced his knowledge of the sport as a whole.

Usman and Joshua could learn a lot from one another, and it’ll be interesting to see if these two stars work together in the gym.

What are your thoughts on Kamaru Usman offering to train boxers in grappling?

Jake Paul

The always polarizing YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul claims that his emergence has made some of Boxing’s greatest legends take notice.

Paul has gone from a relative afterthought to one of Boxing’s most prominent personalities within a year. He’s earned wins over former UFC stars Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley and has seen his brand skyrocket.

Paul’s marketing ability has proven to serve him well from his career as a social media influencer and now as a professional boxer. After passing the toughest test of his career against Woodley, he believes that he has the backing of top boxing stars such as Mike Tyson, Anthony Joshua, and Tyson Fury.

“The legends would agree,” Paul told Bleacher Report (h/t The Mirror). “The Anthony Joshuas, the Mike Tysons, the Manny Pacquiaos, the Tyson Furys. They’ve all said what I’m doing for boxing is a breath of fresh air.”

“I think that debate started about a year ago – is Jake Paul good for boxing? I have silenced that, and I don’t think there’s anybody on the other side of the equation who thinks I’m bad for boxing.”

Jake Paul Will Face Tommy Fury On Dec. 18

Paul will face another undefeated boxer on Dec. 18 in Tommy Fury, the younger half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. Tommy is coming off of a unanimous decision win over former Bellator fighter Anthony Taylor during the same card that Paul defeated Woodley.

Tyson has said in the past that he’s been impressed with both Jake and Logan Paul during their young boxing careers. Logan recently fought against Boxing Hall of Famer Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition in Miami, FL.

There’s little debate that the Paul brothers are two of the most divisive figures in Boxing history, but there’s also no doubt that both have made a tremendous footprint on the sport during their young careers. Paul will look to silence the doubters further against Fury in just a matter of weeks.

Do you agree with Jake Paul’s comments?
