UFC 241 is right around the corner. The action goes down next week (Sat. August 17, 2019) from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. However, the main event isn’t the fight that seems to be garnering all the hype.

Currently, the UFC heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic is the headliner. However, it’s the welterweight clash between Nate Diaz and Anthony “Showtime” Pettis that has the mixed martial arts (MMA) world buzzing. Pettis is coming off a knockout victory over Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson in his 170-pound debut, while Diaz is coming off a three-year layoff.

The UFC has released another epic hype video for the matchup, which is one of the most highly-anticipated fights of the year. Check it out below.

The personal beef between Diaz and Pettis seems to go back years. It will be interesting to see if there’s a verbal back-and-forth in a press conference before the event. However, no such event has been announced as of this writing. The stylistic matchup between these two is also very exciting.

Diaz is a great boxer with a dangerous ground game, being a black belt in Gracie Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Pettis is also a dangerous submission artist off his back, and is one of the most dynamic strikers the sport has ever seen, and can knock you at any time. This matchup has all the makings of a Fight Of The Year candidate.

What do you think about the matchup between Diaz and Pettis? Who are you picking?

UFC 241 is highly-anticipated for a number of reasons, but the people’s main event is certainly Anthony Pettis vs. Nate Diaz.

The event takes place August 17 in Anaheim, California, and will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic. However, a lot of fans are more excited for the return of Diaz.

The 34-year-old will be making his return to the Octagon for the first time in nearly three years when he takes on Pettis in a welterweight contest. His last fight was his majority decision loss to Conor McGregor in their rematch at UFC 202 back in August 2016.

Since then, he has claimed he would only return for a trilogy fight with the Irishman or if he was paid an obscene amount of money. It looks like the latter might be the case, especially as Diaz was originally slated to face Dustin Poirier in a lightweight contest last November.

However, he now faces a rejuvenated Pettis who is fresh off a successful welterweight debut against Stephen Thompson — notably giving “Wonderboy” his first-ever knockout defeat.

Will “Showtime” make it two wins in a row for the first time since 2014? Will Diaz’s long layoff affect him in the Octagon? Or will the Stockton native’s pressure be too much for Pettis?

The pros are certainly split on what will happen in the co-main event of UFC 241. You can watch the likes of Frankie Edgar, Colby Covington, Gegard Mousasi and more give their predictions in the below video:

Nate Diaz returns to action later this month and has released an epic hype video to get you more pumped up about it.

Diaz takes on Anthony Pettis in a grudge match in the welterweight co-main event of UFC 241 which takes place August 17 in Anaheim, California. It will be Diaz’s first fight inside the Octagon since his majority decision loss to Conor McGregor almost three years ago.

Fans have been itching to see the Stockton native in action ever since. He was actually scheduled to face Dustin Poirier in a lightweight bout at UFC 230 last November. However, an injury to Poirier meant the fight was pulled.

However, with just under two weeks to go for UFC 241, fans won’t have to wait much longer. And they will undoubtedly be even more excited after watching Diaz’s hype video below:

Pettis, meanwhile, is coming off a spectacular knockout win over Stephen Thompson at UFC Nashville earlier this month. The former lightweight champion will now look to make it two wins in a row with another win over a huge name.

UFC 241 is a stacked card that will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic. Hopefully, this fight comes to fruition as well.

The upcoming UFC 241 pay-per-view (PPV) has a very nice card on tap.

In the main event of the night, UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier defends his title against Stipe Miocic. This will be a rematch from their initial bout last year, in which Cormier knocked Miocic out in the first round to capture the heavyweight title. “DC” believes the result will ultimately be the same when they run it back.

Also, in the co-main event, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis welcomes Nate Diaz back to the Octagon. Diaz hasn’t fought since 2016 when he fought to a Majority Decision loss against Conor McGregor.

And of course, two middleweight powerhouses collide, when Yoel Romero meets Paulo Costa as well. UFC 241 goes down on PPV from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on August 17.
