Conor McGregor Reacts To Bec Rawlings’ Bare Knuckle Debut

Conor McGregor offered his opinion on Bec Rawling’s bare knuckle debut:

Bare Knuckle FC put on an action-packed event with their first-ever show last night (Sat., June 2, 2018) from the Cheyenne Ice and Events Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

The event featured three UFC veterans scoring wins (watch full highlights here) when Bec Rawlings, Joey Beltran, and Ricco Rodriguez were all victorious on a card that was deemed highly entertaining by the vast majority of onlookers.

For her part, former UFC women’s strawweight competitor Bec Rawlings got back into the win column following four consecutive losses that lead to her UFC release with a much-needed TKO win over Alma Garcia when Garcia could not answer the bell for the second round. Suffice to say, Rawlings’ bare knuckle debut was a success, and it’s drawing rave reviews from even the highest levels of combat sports.

Case in point, former two-division UFC champ Conor McGregor reacted to Rawling’s bare knuckle victory by commenting on a photo of the fight taken and posted on Instagram by MMAFighting.com photographer Esther Lin, praising how she properly punched in a style best suited for that particular form of pugilistic art:

“Some great shots. Photo and fist. Thumb positioned perfectly for a bare fist shot. Zero damage to the paws taken. Great work Bec.”

McGregor has been out of action since losing to Floyd Mayweather via tenth-round TKO in the boxing ring last August. The MMA world is currently awaiting his official return on pins and needles, yet it may be a while off considering he’s set to appear in court on June 14 for assault charges stemming from his April attack at the UFC 223 media day in Brooklyn, New York.

After the show she put on this weekend in Cheyenne, Rawlings’ fighting future seems a lot more certain, however – and McGregor is in full approval.

Bare Knuckle FC Highlights: Was This Fight Fixed?

This finish is being called highly questionable by many who saw it:

There was a ton of action at last night’s (Sat., June 2, 2018) Bare Knuckle FC event from the Cheyenne Ice and Events Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

A former UFC women’s strawweight got back into the win column by TKO, former UFC and Bellator vet Joey Beltran won a bloody- five-round war, and a former nine-time Bellator heavyweight competitor suffered a huge one-punch KO. You can watch the highlights for all of those bouts here, but some additional controversy in one of the fights arose involving bare knuckle legend Bobby Gunn.

Gunn, a folk legend of the sport with a ridiculous 71-0 record in bare knuckle fights heading into his match with Irineu Beato Costa Jr., proceeded to work Costa’s body early on, dropping him. When he got back up and was dropped again just 41 seconds into the fight, people remarked that Gunn’s finishing punch had not actually hit Costa in the head, although it seemed the body shots were what hurt him.

Overall, although it appeared Gunn was landing some decent shots, many watching were surprised to see Costa fold like a lawn chair from the blows, rendering him unable to continue awarding Gunn a TKO victory in under a single minute of the first round.

Bare Knuckle FC Highlights: Bellator Vet Gets Brutally KO’d

Some brutal action went down at last night’s Bare Knuckle FC event:

There was no major mixed martial arts (MMA) action on the docket last night (Sat., June 2, 2018), but combat sports fans were able to get their fisticuffs fix with Bare Knuckle FC from the Cheyenne Ice and Events Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

UFC women’s strawweight veteran Bec Rawlings was perhaps the most well-known name on the brutal card of old-time boxing, as she defeated Alma Garcia by second-round TKO when Garcia was unable to answer the bell for the second round.

Watch the highlights here:

And while UFC veterans Joey Beltran and Ricco Rodriguez also scored wins, nine-fight Bellator MMA vet Eric Prindle also made an appearance on the card, although it didn’t go quite as well for him. Facing Sam Shewmaker, Prindle was brutally knocked out with one punch.

Check out the massive KO:

Beltran got into a bloody, insane, five-round war with Tony Lopez, with both men having their moments in a brutal back-and-forth affair that Beltran ultimately won by unanimous decision:
