Former professional wrestler turned mixed martial arts fighter Jake Hager, a.k.a Jack Swagger, made quick work in his debut at Bellator 214.

Hager got his chin tested early on as his opponent JW Kiser cracked the former WWE champ with a solid right hand. But then Hager instinctively grabbed ahold of Kiser and the fight was essentially over at that point.

The All-American wrestler got Kiser to the ground and delivered some hard elbows that softened Kiser up. Hager worked for a kimura but decided instead on an arm triangle choke.

Hager is the latest in a long line of pro wrestlers to test their hands at a new career. During his post-fight interview with John McCarthy, Hager revealed he would like to fight for another 10 years.

Whether or not Hager can really compete for another decade remains to be seen. But if Bellator President Scott Coker feels like Hager is a draw we will no doubt see him back in the cage before too long.

The main card of Bellator 214 got off to a quick start as Adel Altamimi submitted Brandon McMahan in the very first round.

Altamimi’s story has been well documented, and now the world can see the hype is justified. The 29-year-old Iraq soldier only needed 1:16 to snag his very first Bellator win.

This is the sixth win in the last seven fights for Altamimi. That impressive run dates back to 2016. Strangely enough, the only loss for “Kyokushin” in that time frame was to Juan Archuleta who also got his hand raised on the main card just after Altamimi.

Bellator 214 results are underway as the Viacom-owned promotion holds this latest event on television for fight fans around the world to watch the show.

It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Saturday, January 26, 2019) will come in the form of Bellator 214. Headlining the card are Fedor Emelianenko and Ryan Bader, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the rest of the main card.

Fedor Emelianenko and Ryan Bader meet in a heavyweight bout for the vacant title in the main event.

Aaron Pico vs. Henry Corrales meet in a featherweight bout in the co-main event.

Jake Hager vs. JW Kiser is next in a heavyweight bout.

Juan Archuleta vs. Ricky Bandejas is next in a bantamweight bout.

Opening the main card on Paramount Network is Brandon McMahan vs. Adel Altamimi in a featherweight bout.
