A Loving Photo/Video Tribute to Jade Bryce, Former (!?) Bellator Ring Girl

By now, you’ve probably heard the sad news: Longtime Bellator ring girl Jade Bryce has been released from the promotion. “Super sad to announce that I am no longer with Bellator,” Jade wrote on Instagram over the weekend. “They have chosen to go in a different direction for the new year. I worked exactly 99 fights for them over the past 4 years, & it truly was the best 4 years of my life.”

If Bellator’s “new direction” involves getting rid of all of its ring girls — even the other one that you never really hear about — because the use of ring girls in combat sports is a sexist tradition or whatever, we will grudgingly accept that. (Also, if Bellator is cutting Jade to make room for a ring boy, we will also accept that, because CagePotato has always supported equality and absurdity.)

Any other explanation makes no sense. Jade Bryce is a more beloved and respectable figure than 90% of Bellator’s actual fighter-roster. So yeah, we’re a little bitter today, because we love Jade; she’s beautiful, kind-hearted, and any MMA ring girl who doesn’t recoil in horror around us is aces in our book.

After winning a ring-girl search put on by the fine gentlemen at TheChive, BSN-sponsored fitness competitor Courtney Prather has earned a spot as Bellator’s next ring girl, and will make her debut at Bellator 106: Rampage vs. Tito on November 2nd. The Southern California native is also a certified personal trainer and fitness educator who shares her knowledge on her lifestyle site fitnesslifeadventure.com. I’m going to take a wild guess and say she consumes less pizza than Jade Bryce.

Jade Bryce Rolling Around in Spandex Eating Pizza Is Something We Can Always Get Behind [HI-YO] [VIDEO]


(I haven’t seen pizza-eating this sexy since Bijou.) 

Jade Bryce‘s ongoing war with the functioning keyboard rages on, Potato Nation.

Taking a break from her gig as the female Rich Little of MMA memes, the Bellator ring girl was recently photographed testing the limits of spandex and eating pizza* whilst rolling around in some dude’s apartment. Being that the dude who filmed this (Matt Blum) is some fancy photographer with his own website and everything, a pretentious French title (“La Faim”/”Hunger”) was slapped on what is essentially the first few minutes of a Casting Couch Audition because ART. It must have taken everything within his being to avoid shooting this in black and white through a fisheye lens.

I’m just busting Blum’s chops, of course, because he seems to have developed quite a knack for photographing incredibly attractive women in next to nothing (and often, simply nothing) and that is a profession that I will defend to the death. So cheers to you, Matt Blum, for when I bring my laptop into Best Buy tomorrow as per the weekly cleaning/memory wipe, I will do so with a look of pride on my face. If only just this once.
